Jourdan
If O'Driscoll can get the best out of Barnes, he could be the difference between them being mid-table also-rans and promotion contenders. But it's a big if, of course. The injury problems he suffered with us seem to have knocked his career and the likelihood of him fulfilling his potential totally out of sync. I think it's the likes of Millwall, Donny or Southampton who could really emerge this year as genuine promotion contenders. Good footballing sides with some talented individuals. They haven't made big splashes in the market (Cork for Southampton aside) but assembled their squads quietly. There's always one or two teams who creep up under the radar and I'd fancy it to be one of them.
StaffsRam
Of course Forest were interested in Barnes a few weeks back, but then they realised that he's not yet eligible for his bus pass so fooked him off.

The player was sensed in England to Nottingham Forest. http://www.mercato365.com/infos-clubs/monaco/article_541350_Monaco-Barnes-a-l-essai.shtml I thought this referred to Barnes', often forgotten, essay he wrote in the 3rd Year on his favourite ever band, Monaco. His critique of the lyrcis to 'what do you want from me' was highly insightful and strangely prophetic too. He ended up with a B from his music teacher when it was definitely deserving of an A. Mainly cos his teacher was a huge New Order/Joy Division fan and blamed Hooky for the break up and took it out on Giles. This led to him concentrating purely on football and he continued to fall out of love with electronic influenced guitar music. By the time of our promotion season, he was listening almost exclusively to early Neil Young/Gram Parsons, even performing a harrowing version of 'The Needle and the Damage Done' at the celebration Kareoke party after the Wembley triumph. p.shilton
I think I may have been living in a cave- I thought Giles had signed for Florist already? I kind of hoped that he hadn't as I don't fancy playing against him if/ when fully fit....
