Ellington not wanted

Ellington became the Hornets' record signing in August 2007 when Adrian Boothroyd paid £3.25million for him but after scoring just four goals in his first season he was sent to Derby on loan this term.

The Rams have the option of signing him for free this summer but as he has featured just twice in 2009 for Nigel Clough's side it would appear that he may return to Watford.

However Rodgers told the Watford Observer: "If Derby don't want to sign him then there is the possibility that he will come back.

"However, I have made it clear to the club that Nathan's future would lie elsewhere."

I really can't see Cloughie signing him at the end of the season with us cutting back the squad, looks like his future is in Watfords reserves, shame really as I thought he'd be a decent striker for us but he's just not been given a decent run in the team to prove himself.

MMMmmm his form in the cup was good but it was against lower league clubs, - i have yet to be convinced by Ellington - he always seems lazy to me - but that was under Jewell - he has hardly been seen since - and it looks like it will stay that way.

Personaly i think hes way above tito and varney. But i think the price tag would be a lot considering what they payed. Someone will come along and pick him up whether hes back in league 1 or not.

not a fan of him I'm afraid. I dn't rate Tito or Varney much either if I am honest but I won't knock either of them for effort, both work their guts out, it is just a pity the talent seems to be missing.

Ignoring the 14 sub apperences he's made 17 starts and scored 9 goals, and his goal record at Wigan shows he knows where the goal is. a strike force of Hulse, Porter and Ellington could easily get the goals to secure promotion.

It's one thing Clough has done wrong for me, let him rot in the reserves and lose match fitness, we have had to play a unfit Hulse for how many games now? If Hulse had been given a couple of games off to shake off his knocks would he of put away his chances on Tuesday night?
