Albert
Just the role model our club always needed, especially after racking up a singular win in that season. Jewell was not only a mastermind at recruitment, but was a decent role model too.

MickBorrowashRam
Derby County chief executive Tom Glick says the Rams want to bring in at least four more players this summer. Despite having already signed six, Glick says the side are looking for two more forwards, a holding midfielder and a left-back. They have also been linked with Burton Albion goalkeeper Adam Legzdins. Glick told BBC Radio Derby: "If there's a young, talented player that we can add we'll do it and the goalkeeping position is one that we (are) open on." Think Bywater Would Need To Depart 1st Before We Signed Legzdins .

Rampant Rob
RAMS ARE CLOSING IN ON LANDING BREWERS KEEPER LEGZDINS Saturday, June 25, 2011, 09:00 DERBY County are hoping to tie up the signing of Burton Albion goalkeeper Adam Legzdins next week. The Rams are thought to be close to agreeing a deal for the 24-year-old stopper, which could be worth around £200,000. Legzdins was voted Albion's player of the year by the fans and his team-mates after an impressive 2010-11 campaign, in which he made 51 appearances for the League Two club. The former Birmingham City trainee, who had a brief loan spell with Alfreton Town as a teenager, joined Burton from Crewe Alexandra last summer. He has a year left to run on his contract at the Pirelli Stadium and has been offered a new, improved deal in a bid to retain his services. But Brewers boss Paul Peschisolido appears resigned to losing one of his most prized assets. And Burton are in line to receive a club record transfer fee, surpassing the £130,000 recouped for Derby's current player of the year, John Brayford, when he joined Crewe Alexandra in 2008. If a deal is done, Albion could be offered Derby keeper Ross Atkins on loan. Atkins, 21, spent a month on loan at Burton in January 2010, without making an appearance. He has also had stints with Southport, Kidderminster Harriers and Tamworth, and made his senior Rams debut at Reading on the final day of last season. Derby have already signed England Under-21 keeper Frank Fielding from Blackburn Rovers this summer. Manager Nigel Clough also has Stephen Bywater, Saul Deeney and James Severn currently on his books. http://www.therams.co.uk/news/RAMS-CLOSING-LANDING-BREWERS-KEEPER-LEGZDINS/article-3680680-detail/article.html
Stimacked
Sounds like a good deal here. Not sure why Deeney was offered a new contract. Only thing it could come down to was that he will be out injured for a long while yet and Clough diden't want to leave him out injured without a club, so did him another favour and offered him another deal, while he continues his recovery. Suppose he might be loaned out once he gets fit, if we do sign LEGOLAS!

dcfcdavecov
Yeah, it does seem strange. Seems like welfare for him. We don't pay the wages when they're injured do we....thought that's where insurance comes in? Meh, i don't know. Maybe if we gave him a contract he could claim the insurance money, doesn't cost us anything, and he doesn't have to sign on with Billy Davies every other Saturday.
