noddyrams Posted May 7, 2011 Share Posted May 7, 2011 Ok been reading a lot of people on here getting excited about these 8 signings we are making over the summer but I'm concerned that we still don't have any major players coming in. The figure of 6-10 signings I think is just pulling the wool over our eyes as we already know half of the list and some already in our squad playing at the moment, to which we have just had our worst season ever in a 46 game season. I've made a list below of players and thoughts: 1. Fielding - good keeper, hopefully good signing 2. Ward - done well on loan for us but is he that good? He looks good in our very poor team? But if we are wanting top 6, would ward have got in any of the top 6 sides this year? I don't think so personally, so therefore for me not that great a player. 3. Robinson - young striker and an awful lot to learn. From what we have seem so far as well he isn't good enough. 4. Tyson - 2 goals for forest this year, says enough for me. And yet another striker who plays more out wide than upfront. 5. Riggott - if the rumours are true, but he is injury prone and can't see him ever becoming back to be enough for the championship. 6. Kevin Phillips ? - only speculation, but for me too old and not the right style of atrocity we need. We need someone to hold the ball up, Phillips has made a career from running onto balls that have been held up and laid off by a big man. 7. Lee bowyer ? - only speculation, might be a good replacement for savage but has had some bad injuries in his career so I just hope he is over them. 8. I think I've got everyone we definitely know. Ok so that means only around 3 more players if you ignore bower and Phillips as they are just guesses. So I'd guess a centre half, midfield, and striker. There gonna have to be some serious players to change our distinctly average side even with those 5 signings we think we already know. Plus still no reserve right or left back, and no real cover in any other position. Oh and don't forget no green or barker at the start of the season, and if green ever gets back to his top form after such a serious injury. I'm concerned for next season. Wait around a week for them to approve you. Then once approved, ask the staff for the most powerful hand gun they have, stick it inside your mouth and shoot. Neither of those guys are going to be included in the 6 - 8 signings we need. Season has only just ended, next nowhere near begun and already we have our first 11/12 wrist slashers. Actually, as we already know, that figure does not include the players we currently have on loan Can't actually find a link but Glick and Clough has said in numerous interviews that the 6-8 don't include Ward, Ayala, Fielding or Robinson. Two of your speculations are from the Prem which contradicts what NC has been saying about Chsmpionship players. You then use this 'evidence' to suggest we will be in trouble next year. I tell you what, I will speculate we will sign Williams, Pratley and Sinclair from Swansea and Maynard from Bristol and I predict we will finish top six. The truth will probably be somewhere between the two versions. If Via Gellia is too far to get to, it's a long drop of the Cathedral tower. No I'm not wrist slashing I was actually opening a topic for discussion on summer signings and giving my thoughts unfortunately too many people on here just make stupid throw away comments rather than having valid discussions...yes they might have been negative thoughts but based on just having our worst season ever surely that's understandable. It's called being a realist with the knowledge I have. If we had Alex ferguson coming as manager and Owen was coming then I'd have a different opinion. If you're not a prediction machine, why are you making predictions? Yeah and I said ignore bowyer and Phillips as they are speculation so I made my conclusion without those two and did make the comment I hope the final 3 are some seriously good players....read the thread in full before having a dig please. And yeah i agree somewhere in-between will be nice, but I was only speculating and offering out a debate, if one of us gets all of this summers movement right I'll be surprised.
