big daddy
Hi, I've got number 250 of 500 of the limited edition Farewell to the Baseball Ground Picture (with certificate). Someone has seen it and has shown an interest in buying this. I'm not sure that I'd want to let it go but has anyone any idea how much it would be worth if I do decide to sell it? Bit of a random topic but if anyone has any ideas it would be great to hear them. Cheers
Boycie
I'll give you a fiver. It's worth what someone wants to pay for it. What did it cost you? Doubt it will have increased in price.

Pearl Ram
Happy days UttoxRam, I still remember John O'Hare anihilating Spurs's Mike England (no slouch) on a day we put 5 past a decent Spurs team. Thinking of O'Hare, I'm sure I saw him give Charlie George a good doing when it was the done thing to hate George. I remember the pop side gobbing at him when he scored for Arsenal and he came running over to us giving us the V's...then he signed for us and we loved him. Funny old game football innit? Great post! Those were the days, night games the atmosphere was electric. "Derby Derby Derby" booming round the ground and the wooden floorboards of Normo and Ossie Ends adding to the wall of noise! Being part of The Suicide Squad fighting in the Pop Side Columbo End! Crushed against the barriers, and 40,000 crowds swaying and tumbling. Going mental when we scored and no sign of health and safety stewards relling you to sit down. I always used to love the local rivalries such as Heanor lads chanting "Heanor" then everyone shouting "Sharples"

StaffsRam
BBG vs PP - no contest. In terms of atmosphere, and history, the BBG will never be topped. Sadly the glory days of the 70s were before my time, but it was still a great ground in the 80s and 90s, and to be honest, that atmosphere has rarely, if ever, been matched at PP. PP is superior to the BBG in a lot of ways, but possibly not the most important ways.
uttoxram75
The Baseball Ground was well past its "use by" date in the end. When they put seats on the Popside it was like going to see the Sex Pistols and the Rubettes turned up instead:eek: PP is as good as any other modern stadium really, and to be fair, when we play well, or when it matters, the fans respond. From what i remember though no matter what at the BB we got behind the team that doesn`t happen at PP.
