Derby Ultras?

ULTRA

Recommended Posts

Well, I think the Barmy Army are failing massively. Nobody can even hear them in the North Stand.

I think Derby should make a Derby Ultras type thing in the South East corner.

Taking massive flags, scarves and smokes to home and away games. It would make Derby iconic and make Pride Park look great!

You have the Accrington Stanley Ultras and also the Green Brigade (Celtic Ultras).

If you search 'Green Brigade' on YouTube and look at some of the videos to see what I mean.

No violence is involved just making Pride Park and Derby County look better.

What do you think?

The NSBA are making a decent effort, why not join in with them.

I go with the Barmy Army to away games, but I already have a ST in the SE Corner and I personally think it's better than the north stand. Basically saying the Barmy Army should have joined the South East corner other than start new.

As they've said before, they couldnt get tickets together in the south east corner.

Would rather have my testicles pulled out of my eye sockets than have ever search on you tube for anything to do with that scummy football club.

Roll on 12:00 tomorrow and come on you teddy bears!!!

And as for the barmy army, great idea, fair play, crap name, all the best

If you really care that much, go ahead an do it. Nowt wrong with a bit of healthy competition between you and the NSBA.

Remember, the NSBA are starting out in the family stand, it will snowball in to something big because of Nick's incredible and admirable peserverence.

But I welcome a more organised effort from the SE corner, why not go ahead and try and be better than the NSBA? Something to keep you busy during the summer months...

So you've seen some Youtube videos and you've decided you want a piece of the Ultras pie. What do you personally know about the culture and what would you do to make the as yet unnamed and unformed Derby Ultras unique?

"Get some flags made up and maybe bring in a flare or two" is not an acceptable answer.

Well it seems you have already had your question answered.... :p

I will drop my pennies worth though. If we had a choice we would take big flags in the stand, we would do smoke flares you name it!! Simple fact is we cannot and we respect that...

If you think that Accrington do that week in week out you are mistaken but the chances of them getting away with it compared to us is to much greater....

The ULTRA scene and its culture cannot imo happen in England due to the rules and regs, simple as that really!

To be fair I sit in the same block as the Barmy Army and you can hardly hear them so I can't imagine anyone further than that even knowing they exist. Fair play to em though but its a pity nobody joins in.

If you sit in the same block as us you must be lower tier of NSBA.

Now let me work it out, if Nigel can hear us from the half way line on the touchline and then you cant from the same block something doesnt seem right, or am I going barking mad??!!!

Do agree the Chop about nobody else really joining in, it seems we have a thread about us after every game and the atmopshere!!

What more can we do??? Seriously??? We have an empty block for like minded fans to move to yet no one really wants to ACTUALLY do anything about it due to the below reasons:-

1) Have had the seat at PPS for years

2) Have a great view in my seat

3) With my family who wont move over

4) Does not have the B******cks to move over from the SE Corner.

I am very pleased with our progress this year as feel we have set a benchmark and base out. People talk about us whether it be good or bad so we are obviously noticed.

Just one other thing, we are no longer known as the Barmy Army.

You could do with some lessons in diplomacy mate.

You have the right idea for away games and you are seen and heard. At home it is a different kettle of fish and you state some good reasons as to why you haven't been a success at Pride Park Stadium.

In my opinion, you would have been much better served by trying to improve the SE corner. More flags, new songs, hand out song sheets, more bouncing etc etc.

Good luck to you, but you need to learn how to conduct yourself on messageboards otherwise you will find people will turn against you. I've seen at all before with other "groups".

Denby,

Dont take quote 4 out of context! ;)

It was statement backed up by what others have said before on messageboards and through direct conversations with fans located in that area. Alot of fans WILL NOT leave the SE Corner for that reason, they are scared of losing there seat I think etc and coming to a worser place if that kind of makes sense mate?

I would like to think by now that people have got to know me and KNOW I would not direct any anger towards anyone else in a post or topic. Maybe it did come across a bit harsh but it was more of a point than anything else, nothing more...

SE Corner should be able to look after itself, there are enough in there to say looks lets do this.... etc.... But realistically do you think if that happened it would be welcomed? Alot of fans dont like change and this could be seen as telling them how to act etc when they have been doing the same old thing for 10 + years... I also dont think the mentality is there but would love to be proven wrong!!! :)

What other groups have you come across mate?

Nick
