Hiya, am coming to Pride Park next weekend as its the last game of the season, and it also happens that my friend is getting married on Sunday half an hour away from the ground, so am making a weekend of it.

I haven't been to the ground before, am staying here

Can someone help me out with where the best place to park is, am going to be driving from the hotel to the ground, or is it something I could realistically get a taxi from/to, and does anyone know how much that would cost?

I don't mind paying to park, so is there somewhere fan friendly, and what time would I be need to be parked by to make sure I have a space.

Any advice you could give me would be great :)

well today i parked on millenium way in a business car park

cost a fiver but i didnt have time to muck about as it was about 10-15 minutes to kick off

so you should be able to get a place there but you might have to approach from a52 direction due to road closures around the ground near kick off

DE24 8HZ

What time do the roads get shut?

maybe an hour before kick off?

just means that you cant drive past the ground on derwent parade

there are prob more similar places to park on riverside road ??

you'll avoid any closed roads if you park at a place called Bamfords - postcode is DE21 6EN. It's about 10 mins walk to the ground, fan friendly and will cost £5. There's also other places on that road to park so it's not a dead loss if it's full when you get there.

I've never seen any trouble around there - Leeds fans parked there in their droves the other night without incident...

I don't know which roads are getting shut but when I've attended Pride Park; I normally come by train or stay in a hotel. On the one occasion I drove up for the day, I parked in the Holiday Inn Express car park. They normally only allow permit holders to park but I phoned them the day before and said it would be okay - providing I turned up early enough.

The cost for parking was £5 and the location of the hotel meant a shorter distance to the city centre ring road. It still took about 10 minutes to get out onto the main road (Pride Park Way) but you're at the edge so its less distance of queuing. It is a 10-15 minute walk depending on how quickly you walk.

Not being a Pride Park regular, I'm sure the regulars will be able to offer far superior advice.

Your'e paying jarvis for the hotel so why not get them to do the work and tell you the answer.

It's about 10 miles from Derby and a few miles onto the A38 where once you are in Derby you will see signs for away fans parking - easy. Otherwise, even easier, it's a short trip to Willington station where the are trains every hour or so (I'm sure one gets in around 1300 and one leaves 1800 or so - you need to check) and it's a ten minute walk from Derby Station to the ground. Again I'm sure the hotel will advise on taxi or car parking around Willington station. They may even have a courtesy service.

I'd drive if i was you. A taxi will cost you upwards of 20 quid from Newton Solney. For Saturday night, the village has a cracking pub call the Unicorn just down the road from the hotel. A lovely selection of Real ale.

I've always found the following instructions stand firm.....

When you get in to Derby, Your heart will skip a beat,

You'll get your fucki head kicked in as you walk down Shaftesbury Street,

You'll walk onto the Popside and hear a mighty roar,

**** off you forest ********, we are the Derby boys

only joking, unless your forest.....

There are lots of options close to Pride Park - and without walking for miles. Fireplace World charges £6 and there are usually quite a few away fans parked in there. You can also park in the pub/restaurants for example, The Harvester and the Old Orleans charge £5, we usually park in the Old Orleans and go inside after the match for a drink and wait for the traffic to die down, usually about 20-30 mins. There is also another car park on the other side of the road to the Old Orleans but I am not sure of cost.
