Ratings v Leeds

Jones - 5. "Butter fingers" doesn't even begin to describe what's wrong with this 'keeper.

Brayford - 6. Too many pointless lumps forward cost us a bit of momentum in the first half, but thankfully he cut that out by the second. He's a young player clearly affected by a lack of confidence, but flashes of his earlier season form tonight.

Barker - 7. A top centre-half display. Commanded the back four.

Ayala - 7. His distribution is baffling considering he's a Spaniard, but he won enough headers to just about earn him a 7. Inexperience shows quite a bit with him.

Roberts - 7.5 A near-faultless display, and covered well for Pearson's bursts forward. Interestingly, won almost every single aerial jostle asked of him tonight.

B Davies - 6. I think I've seen enough tonight to suggest he might be able to cut it at this level. He scored an out-standing goal. One of the best I've seen at Pride Park. Still fustrated that he doesn't release the ball enough when dribbling, ignoring so many good passing opportunities.

Savage - 6. Raised to a 6 on the grounds that his injury time antics amused me.

Bailey - 8. We didn't see the passing side of his game today so much, but we saw the dirty side. He was everywhere, winning the ball and then handing it to the front men. He was also there to clear the ball after some of Jones' worrying parries.

Pearson - 8.5 MOTM. Absolutely superb performance, finally finding use for his pace. He put some brilliant balls in today and if we had a towering centre forward on the field he might have had half a dozen assists. Second goal entirely engineered by him.

Ward - 8. Rapidly becoming a fan-favourite. Outstanding work ethic, highly skillful and an eye for goal. All of these qualities were on show again today and Leeds really didn't like him. Sign him up, sign him up, sign him up.

S Davies - 7. Not entirely sure he's a CF yet but he's growing in to the role more now. He's clearly got his fitness back and put his shift in tonight for the team. He's not so good at holding the ball up but he's always there to pass to and he's also pretty good at finding other white shirts.

Feeoooo Robison also gets a 7 for his substitute appearance.

Are you serious? 8.5 for that? He beat a very average full back ONCE. So fickle.

Fickle??

Mate don't start using words like that when you have no idea how I've described Pearson for the last few matches.

It's all about opinions.

And he didn't beat him once, did he. He couldn't cope with Pearson all night and he put several crosses in. My only fustration is we didn't get it out wide to him enough.

I think I could get past connolly 3 or 4 times a game! Pearson did well last night, possibly the best I have seen him play but he should be doing that every time he pulls on the shirt- maybe he's trying to impress other clubs with the window opening soon? Last week I would have said good riddance but if he is going to play like that every week then he is more than welcome to stay! 8.5 is a little generous though bunny!

Why not for once give credit where credit is due. He ripped a new arse out of Connolly they ended up double teamed, brave tackling good crossing and passing.

I think this why Clough rates Pearson, if you see him do that everyday in training, against Connolly, then surely you would think you had a good player on your hands?

Brave tackling? Did you miss the 3 in the first half that he **** out of? And the header he ducked under?

Yes he did well for the goal, but against a very average full back he should of been doing it all night, he did it ONCE. Put one good ball in, that caused a goal. Credit it where its due is for the 30 seconds of good football he's shown all season.

Don't think we're talking about the same player here

Guess we must sit in different parts of the ground where he looked different or something.

Tall, ginger, overall very Scottish looking.

I take it you are one of these people who comes in 10 mins late, leaves 5 mins early to get a pie, pea and fag at half time who is late to their seat at half time and leaves at 85 mins no matter who we play.

Pearson got booked in first half for similar tackle. disrupted play put two cracking crosses in which could have led to a goal and did not allow Connoly to attack. Further to this he nearly scored just before setting up Ward for his goal, he then crossed the corner onto the foot of Ben Davies, totally destroyed Connoly in second half and continued to put pressure on and crosses.

I would say you need to get to Speck Savers and take those tinted glasses off.

In the DET today, Pearson actually admits that his corner on Tues was meant for the back post...!!

Hahahaha......Sounds about right

He played well by complete fluke.....................Damn! :D

Oh well, Lo0oked like a beautiful corner to BD, With great crossing ability and great vision. Instead he 'scuffed it' lol. Oh well, At least he admits that, Many Premiership players would have kept schtum.

Still put in a good shift, And we more than likely wouldn't have won without him. Hats off for honesty........Can we keep him?!!? :p:D
