uttoxram75
Derby County defender Shaun Barker said Saturday's 2-1 win over Swansea City was a huge relief coming on the back of his "lowest" moment as a Rams player. The win was Derby's first home success since 20 November and Barker told BBC Radio Derby it was vital coming so soon after the 2-1 loss at Middlesbrough. He said: "That defeat's probably the lowest I've felt since I've been here. "It really hit the boys hard and a result like this [swansea] is the best way to pick ourselves up." The win over the Swans means Nigel Clough's side are now nine points clear of the Championship relegation zone. Barker added: "Our away performances in the last three or four weeks have been pretty decent but our home form has been really poor recently. "We are at a massive club with massive expectations and a massive fanbase and when we are not performing - like we haven't been at home for a good couple of months - then it's tough to take. "It's not a lack of effort. but bad decisions, mistakes and a lack of confidence has really shot us. "We have been under a lot of pressure. It's not been an enjoyable time. But hopefully a result and a performance like that can spur us on." http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/d/derby_county/9424861.stm Link to comment https://dcfcfans.uk/topic/5931-shaun-barker-interview/ Share on other sites
Duracell
A proffesional footballer who has enough brain cells to be able to tell us what's going on from the inside! He'll go far in this game. davenportram
Well I think he doesn't understand the club and fans at all. The mauling at the city ground has to be the low point for any player this season. I say get rid and get someone else in You can always find a negative twist if you look hard enough, surprised no-one else picked up on this:D:p:D Link to comment https://dcfcfans.uk/topic/5931-shaun-barker-interview/#findComment-146266 Share on other sites
inglorious01
He did a very long post match interview after the match with Radio Derby on Saturday. He sounds very articulate and knowledgeable; far more so than Clough does actually. Savage can hardly string a coherent sentence together yet they give him a radio show and TV work. Barker could go far when he retires from the game. Link to comment https://dcfcfans.uk/topic/5931-shaun-barker-interview/#findComment-146267 Share on other sites

blackNwhites
Barker went on to explain he's waiting until we are safe for the operation he needs. He's not had a pre-season since he's been here and he really wants to be involved this time around. Hasn't really trained during the week all season.
