Can't see anything on Victor Chandler. That's how far we've dropped, can't even get any odds for Clough.

Id bet my house on clough not getting sacked, luckily we arent run by idiots who chop and change everything every 6months.. Just a shame our fans don't think like that, the grass isnt always greener on the otherside.

Agree with you. It's these Yanks that we have got to get rid off. No one and I mean no one can achieve success with the constraints that this club is run under.

Look at the Fielding incident as the latest act of incompetence.

The Club is a Joke.

Don't renew and watch away that's the only way we will be shot of them. Short term pain for long term gain.

YANKS OUT !

Its 2 years so not really chop and changing. What does Clough do which makes you think he will make us progress?

Thery are there, under football specials, then manager specials

Just saw the odds of Bothroyd at Cov they are having their worst run in years and always get jittery at 9/1 worth a note!

What have you seen of the current team that suggests another manager who we could afford and would be sufficiently tempted could do any better?

You only have to listen to 1 interview with Glick to realise that Clough's job is one of the safest in football right now. The only way Clough will leave Derby is if he quits and he doesn't sound like he's going to do that either.

Whenever I think of Clough and Glick this image appears in my head....

I think exactly the opposite. He's made a few remarks that suggests his relationship with the board is a little strained.

Well Glick appears to have blind faith in him!

Glick can wait until the Summer so long as Derby keep a gap to the bottom 3. If Derby go into the bottom 3 it will be a different story.

However it seems no matter what you do the bottom 3 can't get near enough to you to force Derby's board into a change.

No. I think Glick, like many other people, does not see the value in changing personnel at this stage of the season. He's probably also aware that the Derby job is one of the most unattractive in the league at the moment, and trying to tempt a manager that

a) we can afford

b) is prepared to work with a poor group of players, and no money to bring their own players in

c) will be of a stronger pedigree than Clough

d) will actually make this bunch of players better

is impossible. I'm sure we could go for another manager with good lower league experience, but there's nothing to be gained by doing so.

I've said this so many times, but I'm not some kind of pro Clough lunatic. I just think that whilst people say 'he's not the person to take us forward', there is no one at this moment in time that can take Derby forward. No one could turn this situation in to one that supporters would be genuinely happy with. That would mean going on an unbeaten run and staying up comfortably, and unfortunately the resources we have dictate that won't happen, because we are not good enough.

So the next argument is that Clough has picked this squad, so he should deal with it. Partly true, although

Pearson

Bywater (played most of this season)

Leacock

S.Davies

Savage

Were not Clough buys. True, Roberts was, but I think he, and possibly Lee Croft, are the only cast iron poor buys he has made. Ben Davies has looked poor so far but I'm not judging him yet.

He has signed Theo Robinson and Jamie Ward out of absolute necessity because we didn't have any bodies to stick up front. I really don't think he'd regard Robinson as a key signing, he is exactly what it says on the tin - an EMERGENCY signing. Do not use unless an emergency. Which this is. Such an urgent drafting in of personnel cannot be used against Clough's judgement - we had to get people in asap.

Tactically, some of the things he has done cannot be explained. Playing Brayford at centre half against forest (although he also did that away Ipswich with considerable success) didn't go down well, especially when it mattered away at forest. However, at the moment, the people that sit near me just blame his tactics for the fact we're not very good. It wouldn't matter what we do right now, it probably wouldn't improve anything too much - we're rubbish!

The blame for the situation we are in lays, in my opinion squarely with the board. They have done well in turning Derby County into a sound business financially, but seem to have a complete lack of ambition in terms of bringing players to the club. Get a new manager with the same lack of investment and we'll in this same position 12 months from now.
