mcsilks
He likely knows a lot more than you as he was born into a footballing family. Why are we questioning such decisions? Clough is the manager and it is up to him who he employs. He clearly thinks his brother can be of some benefit to the club so he has been given a contract. This is very old news anyway. Boycie
My mate played youth football with both brothers as kids. He says Simon was the better player earlier on. But this don't answer your question. But, I can spot a good player and a bad one. Good = Billy Sharp. Bad = Ben Davies. Ambitious
My mate played youth football with both brothers as kids. He says Simon was the better player earlier on. But this don't answer your question. But, I can spot a good player and a bad one. Good = Billy Sharp. Bad = Ben Davies. apparently not. He is not a bad player, having watched him a damn sight more times than alot of people on here I know what it's capable of and why he was signed to this football club, he is unconvensional in his set pieces but after 1 and half seasons at notts county around 30+ assists and 20+ goals, shows that he isn't a bad player, perhaps been put in a bad team but certainly not a bad player. I agree with Billy Sharp, however why couldn't he cut it at sheffield united? perhaps a similar scenario to why Davies isn't making much impact here.. both players rely on good players around them. Gary Teale
As he was so good you would have thought there would have been loads of clubs in the champ trying to sign him. I don't quite agree with the argument that as his brother was in a football family so he knows about football. Not many top managers, scouts or coaches have any family that had much to do with pro football and I can't think of any sons that have shown that knowledge stays in the famik.
