Cisse
Hey guys. I am Derby fan from Finland. I have been curious for a while now how come the board is finding it so difficult to get the transfer money. When the attendance is over 20 000 in every game, merchandise, tv money, sponsorship deals and the investment from GSE I would expect that something would be available. There´s not much information about Derby County in Finnish papers so I only get information from the net and the local papers when I visit Derby once or twice a year so could you please enlighten me. I sure would appreciate any information. Link to comment https://dcfcfans.uk/topic/5792-financial-situation/ Share on other sites
TimRam
The club saw this season was a dead loss so now doing the minimum to stay up. Hopefully spend in the Summer. Link to comment https://dcfcfans.uk/topic/5792-financial-situation/#findComment-141732 Share on other sites

The Ram
Allegedly The Board/GSE are taking out around £1.5M in Management fees per annum, plus salaries of around £1.5M and expenses and other freebies, including travel to and from games (USA) and cars houses etc. They are sitting on an investment which is based on long term gain, and it has also been said that if they do get us to the Premiership they have to stump up an extra £1.7M of investment as part of the deal. Maybe there is no rush eh? I'm no financial expert, but I would say that in layman's terms we are being ripped off. I hope that sort of answers your question mate, although I'm sure others can be more accurate and specific. Funnily enough, Tom Glick has now refused to answer questions on Radio Derby - I wonder why? Cisse
I gather that the board does not give much information about their actions. Here teams budgets and profits and losses are pretty much known publicly. Sponsorship deals are not known but you usually get to know ballpark the deals are made. The Ram
The Owners of DCFC aren't really a Board as such, it is made up of individual investors, and Managed by GSE, fronted by Tom Glick, and Andy Appleby who is Chairman. They are only interested in making money. They are not fans, and certainly do not feel the pain we all feel. Glick refuses to speak to Radio Derby, and that is down to guilt, as he must realise that we have sussed him out for the spin and **** he's been giving us whilst taking his £450,000 per annum salary. Meanwhile we struggle, but don't worry replica shirts have been reduced by 40% They always think of the fans first  Link to comment https://dcfcfans.uk/topic/5792-financial-situation/#findComment-141736 Share on other sites

Funnily enough, Tom Glick has now refused to answer questions on Radio Derby - I wonder why? Well the TOTAL directors salaries in 2008-2009 were £712k (highest paid director earned £387k which would appear to be Tom Glick as this is same as quoted in General Sports Derby Ltd accounts as only paid director, remember Adam Pearson was still at the club for this particular year - he wasnt a director at General Sports Derby Ltd). The management charges are stated as £375k and expected to reduce significantly is future years, this management charge is partly made up of commissions on sponsorship/partner agreements. Next accounts should be available in early April, so we will see then how much these figures have changed. Boycie
Please be aware that opinions of the club being "ripped off" are your own personal opinions and also anything you say that the club feel is slanderous, is going to land on your door step not ours. Thank you. Link to comment https://dcfcfans.uk/topic/5792-financial-situation/#findComment-141738 Share on other sites

Thank you. well i thought it was obvious we were getting ripped off, paying alot of good money at hard financial times to watch that shower of ****, if we didnt love dcfc and football in general we wouldn't be paying or attending. so with the board selling our championship players and replacing them with league 1/2 players and loan players, without lowering the ticket prices you tell me there not ripping us off??? David
If you can't back up what you say (numbers & figures) don't say it...simples. Surprised that people STILL think they can despite seeing the DET closed down, and several warnings from us. Link or name your source and if you can't name your source then don't post it. Fair enough, like I said in my post "allegedly", and I am obviously not aware of the exact figures, they were what I picked up off other message boards. Even if it is £712K or just over £1M that is imo far far too much for what is being done at the Club. They get a lottery winfall every year for overseeing the business model, meanwhile we suffer decline in on pitch performances :frown: Link to comment https://dcfcfans.uk/topic/5792-financial-situation/#findComment-141746 Share on other sites
Cisse
What kind of information have been published of the income of the club ? I mean actual figures not gossip. I read that players wagebill is 8,5 million. How much team gets from tv, merchandising, tickets and so on. I'm sure I heard on Radio Derby (one night this week phone in?) a bloke say why not get Tom Glick on and Colin Bloomfield said he won't come on the programme. I could be wrong, as I often make mistakes, unlike NC. Link to comment https://dcfcfans.uk/topic/5792-financial-situation/#findComment-141750 Share on other sites
