Strovolos
Evening gentlemen, Tiger Fan here. Coming down for our game at your place which will be my first visit to Pride Park. Been to Baseball Ground a couple of times and always noted the very loud and hostile nature of the ground (is it the same at PP?) Anyway, looking for advice on parking. Priority is safety as I am coming with my two lads aged 12 and 8 who are very excited about and away night match. Cheers in advance! Should say it's behind thd Southstand, go past ground with main entrance on left and it's the first turn off. Parking near the ground is pricy but you'll be safe where ever you park. Derby fans, unlike some, (Forest, Leeds), don't give families any grief, you will be safe and sound at PP. Make sure you have a look at the Clough and Taylor statue. Away fans I've spoken to reckon its a great feature and gives our stadium a bit of class! Hucknall Ram
Big car park behind the ground, £7 to park though. Safe as houses. Thats for home fans, if you drive past it and turn left at the next roundabout, thats for away fans and its £5. It is a industrial estate, but it will be safe. Whoneedshuls
You can park at the fireplace carpark it's just of the a52 and is about £6 ( was last time I parked there. You better getting to that early though. I wouldn't of thought youd get much hassle of our lot though! Never seen any trouble or anything. And it only gets busy about an hour or so before kick off, so you should be fine. (Especially with it being on a Tuesday night) Link to comment https://dcfcfans.uk/topic/5620-parking-at-pride-park/#findComment-136297 Share on other sites

And you will also have noticed that no one has mentioned the atmosphere, that is because there isn't one, it certainly isn't loud and hostile as you might have encountered before. The ground is like yours, and boro's etc etc a sterile bowl, nothing like the baseball ground, boothferry or ayresome that's for sure. Pains me to say but have to agree about the atmosphere, not a touch on the BBG. The Suit
Pains me to say but have to agree about the atmosphere, not a touch on the BBG. Not sure I agree with that - the atmosphere over the last few years has been very sterile agreed , but I remember a certain game against Middlesborough in December when we beat them with 10 men when PP had an amazing atmosphere - easilly comparing with anything I ever saw at the BBG (But then my time only goes back 25 years) , prob the best I ever saw at the BBG was when we where 3-2 up against Sheff Wednesday in an FA cup quarter final - Even the Ossie Middle where up dancing!! The first 3 or so seasons it was very good, that game especially (wanchope and Townsend had a bit of handbags and wanchope gets sent off and Townsend got a yellow had summat to do with it and hunt got the winner) but for around 10 years it has been rather disappointing except for a few games. I only had 1 season ticket at the BBG and that was the last and every game was better than all the games I have been to this season and in fact for the last 4 years. Yes! That Sheff Wednesday game was the best football experience of my life. I was stood on a milk crate next to my dad in the packed-out Pop Side, right near the away support, who everyone was bantering with loads as usual. When Shane Nicholson scored that long range goal the whole place erupted for ages. I was knocked off my crate, caught some skinhead's earring with my finger on the way past and ripped it out. He didnt care. he was too busy celebrating! I was unharmed. Shame we lost the replay. That would have been '94 i think because Wednesday played Arsenal in both the League- and FA Cup finals. Been a season ticket holder at PP, admittedly only when we were last decent in Prem with Baiano etc. and the atmosphere can be good but its far less spontaenous. There are 2-3 songs are always the same. Its nice to welcome families but there isnt the beer and testosterone levels there used to be. Maybe a good thing, but I do sometimes come back and wish the atmos would improve or that we had redeveloped the BBG. Stive Pesley
Speaking to a Leicester fan who attended the game last week – they parked for free in the Wickes car park on London Road. It’s only a short walk to the ground and they got there about 90 mins before kick off and there were plenty of spaces. It’s also a good place to park for getting away afterwards. Bear in mind that if you park on the Pride Park estate anywhere you will sit in traffic for the best part of an hour afterwards trying to escape. Pride Park gets gridlocked with cars after games Link to comment https://dcfcfans.uk/topic/5620-parking-at-pride-park/#findComment-136304 Share on other sites
