David
Derby County boss Nigel Clough has not ruled out adding to his squad before today’s 5pm transfer deadline. “There is a chance of one coming in,†said Clough before the January window closes tonight. "We have made inquiries and anyone coming in would be on loan. “But it is not so much a problem because we can do emergency loans again after February 9 when the window for loans opens again.†Clough also said there was a possibility of one or two players going out on loan and one is likely to be a striker. Chris Porter has arrived from Motherwell to boost the number of recognised forwards at Pride Park. “We have probably got too many strikers in – six or so – and so one of them could be going out on loan before the deadline,†added Clough. Liam Dickinson, a summer signing from Stockport County, has yet to feature in the first team and has already been out on loan at Huddersfield and Blackpool this season. There has also been some interest in Emanuel Villa. Fulham have completed the signing of Rams’ attacking midfielder Giles Barnes on loan until the end of the season. “He’s a very talented young player who can play just behind the striker. He’s the type of player we don’t have in our squad and is highly motivated after missing a lot of time through injury,†said Fulham manager Roy Hodgson. “He is an interesting addition. He made a brilliant start to his footballing career and is anxious to show what he can do in the Premier League.†Barnes is still working his way back to full fitness after a lengthy spell out with a knee injury and so his move is a loan one for now although the clubs have indicated that they could discuss the possibility of a permanent deal for the 20-year-old at a later date. Gary Teale, outstanding in Saturday’s home victory over Coventry City, has attracted interest from Motherwell, who wanted to take the Scottish international winger on loan. “We had hoped we could bring him here,†said Motherwell manager Mark McGhee. "But he was man of the match against Coventry. There will be discussions between him and Nigel but it seems he is back in favour. “It looks unlikely that he will come here.†[url=http://therams.co.uk/stories/nigel-may-move-in-for-more-signings]http://therams.co.uk/stories/nigel-may-mov...r-more-signings Looks like I'l be sat on the PC till 5pm today, perfect day to be snowed in
Boycie
That's it for the one more then? have deals got to be finalised before midnight? or is it all done by 5?
David
Registration forms have to be in by 5pm for players although terms and fee's can be agreed after the deadline if the clubs can prove they couldnt complete due to the weather. Not heard of any players coming in, I'm sure we would of heard by now. Although the emergency loan window opens again next week, so we could still see the loan signing come in then.
