Hartley Hare
Good to see what the manager's priorities were yesterday.... http://www.dcfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10270~2281434,00.html Giving away tickets for tonight's match too. I dare say they're a bargain for the price of a bag of nails.... Apologies if this has been posted elsewhere. Not in a good mood today... :frown:
ramsbottom
Well of course, I can't believe you can't see how important popping into a tool merchants for a quick coffee and a photo op is to the club. A more obvious pointer to our steady decline is in the News box to the right of the article. 12-1 for a 2-0 win???!?!?!?! Considering we're the home team those are very long odds  Then again bookies are hardly ever wrong...

prideram
Do you honestly think that was taken yesterday? Was probably taken a week ago and it took this long for some PR person to put it on the website.
prideram
"The Derby County boss was invited to the official opening of their new home on Monday afternoon, where he helped with the ribbon cutting ceremony outside the premises. " Ok, missed that bit

Was probably taken a week ago and it took this long for some PR person to put it on the website. Yes, I honestly believe it was taken yesterday because that's what the article says- what reason do I have to believe otherwise? :- "Posted on: Tue 01 Feb 2011 Nigel Clough was on hand to help Derby County's proud partners Protrade celebrate their big move yesterday." Have you read the article contained at the link? According to this article on the official site, Derby County manager Nigel Clough was busy doing PR with a local business and giving away free match tickets on transfer window deadline day. Clear as crystal.
uttoxram75
Its 200 yards from PP. The night before he was in Scotland watching Sammons. There's a lot of things to get annoyed about - I don't think this is one of them.
Hartley Hare
You can't compare the two Uttox, the Scotland trip was to scout Sammon. You're right, of course. Admitting that the squad needs strengthening and posing for photo's instead of doing something about it is nothing to get annoyed about.
dcfcdavecov
Yeah you're right, he should have been watching the non-existent matches on Monday morning.
Hartley Hare
Why would he need to watch matches on deadline day? He should already know his targets long before then!
dcfcdavecov
Alright then, he should have been at the negotiation tables for all the transfer dealings,
davenportram
Don't most transfers negotiations take place at Moor Farm He couldn't be in Scotland and Moor Farm talking to Liverpool. Video conferencing means you can have face to face talks across the world.

CornwallRam
In truth Nigel taking half an hour out would have made little difference - he would have had his phone with him in any case. But to schedule this for transfer deadline day is huge PR blunder. It is indicative of where the focus of the club is.

davenportram
So what the feck is he doing at PP. I despair. I want to die. How far is it from PP to moor farm - 10 minutes? I have no idea. But I would reckon he would be able to get their quicker than say Sammon from Killie or Waghorn from Leicester. If needed.
