LittleRedRam
Sent this tom.glick@dcfc.co.uk - if you feel the same way I'd encourage you to do the same... Tom, Just to let you know that today is the day that will determine whether or not our family of 6 renew our season tickets. I’ve been a season ticket holder for almost over 25 years but unless we sufficiently strengthen the squad today, this season will be our last whilst GSE remain owners of the club. Quite frankly we feel the board is simply taking advantage of our loyal support and we’re not prepared to put up with it any more. It’s now almost 6 months since Rob Hulse left and he hasn’t yet been adequately replaced and our leading goal scorer Kris Commons has been allowed to leave. On top of that, Dean Moxey, the best of our two left backs is being linked with a move to Crystal Palace for not much more than we paid for him and we hear that we won’t pay the fee that Kilmarnock want for Conor Sammon. Yet another target Nigel Clough has pursued but where “the deal is not right for Derby County Last season we were the 12th best supoorted club in England, including the Premier League and yet we find ourselves in the ridiculous position of desperately hoping that one of our local rivals, Leicester City, will be prepared to let us have one of their reserve strikers on loan. Brett Wilson’s commented two years ago that "I don't know if (getting to the top flight) is a necessary goal. If we have fans enjoying a product, it's a very good business to be in". I’m writing to let you know that in our case at least, the business model of taking for granted the hard-earned season ticket money of loyal fans whilst simultaneously squeezing every last drop out of their cash cow is no longer viable. We will not be renewing our season tickets on the basis of promises of summer signings before the renewal deadline. We fell for it once (last summer) and we won’t be falling for it again. Actions speak louder than words and today is the day for GSE to demonstrate they are serious about taking the club forward. David
I've got a feeling that Mr Glick might be a tad busy today so I doubt he will have time to read these kind of emails. Maybe should of sent it at the start of the month, although I'm not sure it would have made any difference to the signings we have made and possibly making today. Stive Pesley
I suspect your sentiments are shared by a lot of us.. I'm certainly feeling the same way and I have the added complication of my seat being re-categorised. If it goes up then that's it...no more Link to comment https://dcfcfans.uk/topic/5307-today-is-the-day/#findComment-127499 Share on other sites

Rocco 32
LittleRedRam , agree with everything you've said, this club doesn't look like it's going anywhere with these muppets at the helm. It's just one disappointment after another at the moment. Link to comment https://dcfcfans.uk/topic/5307-today-is-the-day/#findComment-127501 Share on other sites
admira
Dear Mr Glick I have been a Rams fan all my life despite always living in Ipswich, Suffolk. For the past four years I have had a season ticket but unfortunately there are two reasons why I am unlikely to renew next season. Firstly, the 330 mile round trip from Ipswich to Derby is now costing me around £70 in fuel (obviously not the fault of the club). Secondly, I am (like many Derby fans) becoming increasingly despondent with the clubs lack of ambition. Games are won by scoring goals and selling top scorers Rob Hulse and Kris Commons in the same season and not replacing them suggests money is not being invested back into the team. I am not prepared to spend my own money on watching Derby County when the team is being weakened and the product on offer is becoming inferior. No-body wants a team made up of loanees from other clubs. We need to purchase some permanent strikers and not rely on just Chris Porter. There are stories in the press today that Derby and Kilmarnock can not agree on a fee for Connor Sammon despite the fact that our Championship rivals Ssausagehorpe managed to do so when they have a much lower turnover than Derby. I do believe that a backlash by the fans is just around the corner if a striker (or two) is not purchased on a permanent deal today. The next few hours is going to shape not just our season but also influence DCFC's income in the near future as more and more fans stay away from Pride Park. Alph
I think Glick should take note of the increasing number of frustrated fans. But i doubt he'll do. What he'll do is talk about a busy summer. And he'll talk about that at ST renewal time. I'll get a season ticket because i can't resist. But i wish i could resist. This GSE are turning even the most Pro-Board of us off. Well we have just had a bid rejected for Sammon so I guess Glick is busy today trying to make signings. It must have taken him at least two minutes to brief his PA for today. Incoming transfers - stall, any offers for our players - say yes and offer to giftwrap. dcfcdavecov
SSN report: "As a result of an unnamed e-mail received by DCFC today, Tom Glick had no other option but to put in a bid for Conor Sammon. It was rejected, and it is now understood that Glick is waiting for an e-mail to determine if his efforts were good enough." We wait with bad breath. Yes, yes, Forest did the double over us but what i want to know is have we made a PROFIT this month!!?? "We've got one or two targets lined up for the summer. It's going to be an exciting off-season. Season Ticket renewals will be available from friday" - Tom Glick, a couple of months from now. This GSE are turning even the most Pro-Board of us off. This is exactly why the Yanks constantly deceive and exploit the fanbase mate. They rely on the likes of you and others to inadvertently legitimise their actions. Until the day comes when Rams fans make a stand and season ticket sales collapse they will continue to peddle their spin. I stopped going to PP more than 2 years ago as I didn't trust them and their bullshit and now I only attend away games. Its hard but I will not directly give them a penny of my hard earned until they live up to their promises, or preferably feck off back to the USA. I am not naive enough to think that sending one email will change anything but if enough fans make it clear that we are not going to accept be ripped off any more (as per JayRams comments) they might take some notice. That's why I posted it on here as well. Ultimately the only thing they understand is money (they certaintly don't seem to understand football) and our only real option is to hit them where it hurts - in their pockets. What's your alternative - just do nothing other than make snide remarks? We don't have to go back very far in Derby County's history (the three Amigos) to see that concerted action by supporters can make a difference. Keep your powder dry till the witching hour, things will be alot clearer then; although i believe we are being exploited i dont we can be totally sure until this window closes without action. If it proves to be another negative window then tomorrow night is going to be very volatile if Ipswich win. Ramalama
You're right, he should be getting worried, however there's already a plan in place to offset the few thousand that don't renew for next season; Make the silly ***** who do renew pay more to cover for those that don't. simple.
