........and some silly prices.

Just looked at the "Seat Transfer Market place" that the club has launched

http://derby.strmarketplace.com/Seat-Location-Rights/Marketplace.aspx

This great schemes let you sell the right to purchase your seats to other fans and keep the money in the even of you nnot being able to renew.

Now this is okay for sold out areas like the SE corner etc....where I would guess some people would take up the offer, but only if the numebr of seats up for grabs match their requirements. But for other parts of the ground I think there will be plenty of availability for seats.

Look at some of the prices on that website now - West stand between £300 and £500 quid just for the right to buy a seat - it doesnt inlcude the cost of the season ticket

North stand £200 per seat.

I would love to know who is paying these prices for the right to buy a season ticket. Personally I would wait until they go on sale again.

Is this common at other clubs? Not seen owt like it before.

Neither have I. I think it may well be an americanism.

The only benefit i can see to it is if it transfers the earlybird renewal with it, but that is only if the earlybird renewal is carried on and prices frozen again

derby take over 30% for seller fee.

36% actually Ralph

but if you buy one and sell it on its only 10 %

You even have to pay a fee if you buy one too.

I would have thought that the company running the site (STR) pay Derby a fee to run it and then make money from the fees.

love to know how many peoples done it.

I'll sell my seats for 500 each, and then get the 2 behind that are casual used.

It's in response to supporters' call for more transfer activity at the club

Its been in place a while but they are just advertising it again. Maybe in response to fans saying they are not going to renew. This way they might get a bit of income form fans trying to sell their renewall rights.

I hate to say it, but that made me laugh.

if someone can't renew then their seat should just be sold to another fan.

can't see why there should be a 'transfer fee'?. ...if you don't renew then you don't own the seat ???

i must be missing something

I think its about transferring renewal rights - which i assume include the early renewal benefits which can save a lot of money over the period of price freezes.

Take last this season for example someone who was a new season ticket holder in a recategorized CATC seat would have paid alot more than soemone who was renewing at the old CATD renewal price.

The seller gets a bit from the sale, and the buyer benefits from reduce season ticket price compared to the price for a new season ticket holder.

i can't imagine the buyer could recoup the £1000 fee

still sounds like b0llocks to me

I think thats just people putting on stupid prices, and it is for the West Stand upper for more than one seat I think too. I wonder how many will actually buy seats off it?

i don't agree with the principle of it.

if you're gonna renew then renew

if you're not then let someone else have the opportunity of a season ticket.

its all a bit Arthur Daley.

I think you should "Stand your ground and fight" for your seat.

Please, someone get this.:p
