I agree with Roger Davies very much so on this topic, we were playing some amazing football, you don't become a bad player over-night a few rocky unjust defeats have lead to weeks of poor performances and results, but for a team of such young players it can't be easy when you've got 25 thousand people breathing down your neck saying you aren't good enough. I've been a Derby fan for many of years and the amount of crap that spews out of peoples mouths is really staggering, to the point I wonder how they manage to dress themselves in the morning.

Agree about the rubbish that spews out of some fans mouths. A few examples:

"You can't argue that we should be in front"

Then Oppo have 1 shot off target

"They should be 3-0 up by now"

"Savage is useless, not made a single pass"

Plays a good pass

"He's our best passer, what a ball"

there's more but maybe another time

I do feel that maybe the mumblings of 25k supporters is less to the berating from Nigel on the touchline and the public chastising of players in the press afterwards. Look at Dalglish at Liverpool, he's not banged on about needing money like Hodgson did but has said that he's happy with who he's got. After winning 3-0 he praised every single player. I cant think of one negative or one players he's singled out and as a result the players seem to be playing better for him.

I can't argue that point, the be-rating of players is the worst thing about Clough especially with the squad we have, he tried to get a reaction out of them to prove him wrong, however our players just seemed to get un-hinged and I'm not surprised because I would too, however in his favour he also comes out and praises players just as easily. He talks what he thinks, okay sometimes might not be the right thing to do but you've got to admire him for it.

I think we might be over the worst of it now, we were unlucky to lose on Saturday and the players have proved that they can do it. Just the lack of confidence is the issue.

A win against Ipswich, or a well played draw will be a great foundation to build upon. It can't always be doom and gloom. Onwards and upwards!

Football isn't an exact science, it's not a formula whereby you can go through all the variables and make it come out with the result you want. It could be that a win against Ipswich, with some good play, boosts the players and we go on another run. Could be that we win and it does nothing for us or we could lose and the problem worsen. We don't know, it could be that simple. Obviously new players can bring a new impetus to help and hopefully we add some pace before the next game.

Here's hoping it wasn't a flash in the pan and we can do it again, we wait and see.

I agree with that.

I think the fact we lost to forest and the fans on a whole haven't blown their tops and appreciated the positives (from what I have seen) may help the players confidence and spur us on. Not getting booed off will have done alot of good for the team.

A good result against Ipswich could turn our season around. (And make work easier for me!)

How will you feel if we lose to Paul Jewells Ipswich surely its a must win game isnt it

As far as Paul Jewell and Ipswich go, i have no such feeling towards them apart from the days we play them. If we lose, i'll be as disappointed as the next person as i would be after defeat against any other team but will still be able to see a way out.

This team beat them (minus a couple of loan players) away from home, albeit they had a different manager in charge but that won't make much of a difference at PP.

With the fans behind the lads, we can help spur them on after a positive performance and unfortunate result against Forest and am pretty confident of a win this time around.
