Woolmark
I don't write on here very often but I do read the Forum daily and I have had enough of the knee-jerk 'Clough out/Clough in, Board out/Board out' arguments that seem to swamp us every week. I would prefer to have a proper discussion about the reasons for our current form so here's my starter for 10 : what has changed over the last 2 months? We have gone from playing teams of the park and scoring goals for fun to a dis-interested, de-motivated group that appear to being going through the motions. I accept that injuries and suspensions play their part but what appeared to be vert tight-knit group working hard for each other seems to have lost that togertheness. Looking back to where things first started going pear-shaped is it just co-incidence that certain contract negotiations were first made public at around the same time? Could these negotiations have caused division and resentment with player A thinking if player B is being offered X then I'm worth Y and so on, only to be refused? Nothing divides a group or team as quickly as money/ Could we see a change for the better if player B or C or whoever moves on quickly?

I agree with that actually, Commons being offered a certain amount could lead to other key players having the attitude 'it's not a one man team, we deserve more money as well' Put it this way, I saw Paul Green in JD sports in town last thursday, and he was buying sale items Maybe a sign?
wolves_ram
Most of the players also have no respect for the fans. Take Moxey for example, I usually hang around outside for 2 hours after a match to take photos and try to strike up a conversation with any players who will stop to chat for 15 or 20 mins. Anyway to cut a long story short there were 4 or 5 people round Moxey and I only had an old bus ticket on me so I thrust it to him for him to sign but he took gum out his mouth and wrapped it in it then put it in his pocket. To say i was upset is an understatement ! As usual its one law for autograph hunters books and another for us bus ticket holders. I wont be chanting his name again in a hurry. We also had Moore, Kuchi and Fielding too in the squad. Probably not streets ahead of the likes of Porter, Steve Davis, but they were in good form. That's actually quite funny, no disrespect. I know I would be pissed off in your position and I don't blame you but from an outside perspective that's comic genious. Gary Teale
I think that when things go a bit wrong Ie the forest match Clough becomes very negative and starts picking the same people out for blame. The players all season were wanting the ball and the full backs wanted the ball of the keeper as now it is clearly hit it long safety first, no mistakes and that fear soon runs through the team. I had no doubt that if we had carried on playing the same way we would win games in the second half of sea season but now I'm not very sure. I don't like him signaling players out in public, do it behind closed doors as all the best managers do.

Momentum always plays a huge part in results - both positive and negative. Earlier in the season our good run was started after a 5-0 thrashing of Palace. We beat a rubbish team comfortably which gave the team confidence to go on and string a few performances together. The fact is though that the squad was not as good as the results that we were getting and it only takes one or two narrow defeats (Burnley and Norwich) to turn the tide the other way. Confidence is shot to pieces and the players stop believing in what they had been doing so well previously.
SillyBilly
Why any self-respecting adult would want to wait around for a few snaps or an autograph is beyond me, I thought it was for the kiddies. I find it quite amusing at times. Reminds me of overweight, over-excited americans at Disney Land pushing infront of the kids as the parade goes by. Great when it's going well - but lose confidence and you are set up to fail.
sunnyside
last home game we won Fielding, Cywka and Moore/Kuqi all played. At least two of these would/could have made a difference in recent games.

Whoneedshuls
The 2 major factors that gave us the unbeaten run was. ONE A quality young keeper who COULD actualy command and control his defence. With every ball fielding went for I new he'd catch/clear it with bywater hah u never know wats coming. 2ND reason Sheftki kuqi ok he was old but by god could he hold the ball up better and create space for Bueno and co to score the goals than porter. Enough said before I start getting depressed bring em back clough and well start climbing again you'll see!!!

I find this story an absolute disgrace. The point is the absolute arrogance and contempt our club at Board level and player level have for loyal supporters. I must admit I think Nigel has acquired his dads arrogance and very little of his genius. Has Nigel Clough ever blamed himself for any defeat or even inferred he has made poor decisions?
