Quote from Paul Warne today. Does anyone have any ideas on who the 2 players were?

Derby's head coach feels the club has proven they are an attractive proposition and says two players who turned down a move to the club in the summer are now want to make the switch to Pride Park.

"I do believe that the way we've played this year, we are an attractive option," he said. "So I do know, because I speak to players all the time, that in the summer we didn't get a couple of targets because the player themselves thought we were going to be in a relegation fight.

"I do feel that we've done a lot this year and played really well in games, that we are more attractive. Whenever our games are on TV or on highlights, the stadium looks amazing. So I do know there's a couple of players that chose someone else in the summer and now are making noises, they want to come here, which is good. I don't want to be stubborn and be that guy who goes, well, you didn't pick us the first time. Obviously with the situation we're in, we don't have the collateral of some of the other teams. But there are certain things that we can offer players that maybe other clubs can't."

As @Carnero said id imagine one is Jebbison who id imagine will be relocated as he has only played 245 minutes in the league this season, I wonder if another one is Andre Gray as Warne hinted at looking at free agents a few times towards the end of the summer window. His contract expires for plymouth in January, id certainly take him and move washington on. Gray has 3 goals and one assist in 7 games so far for plymouth and has looked good whenever I've seen him.

I think one will be Daniel Jebbison as he's not getting much game time at Watford.

Would be very happy with that! Forgot he went there!

Do worry is a bit flaky that two who turn us down in the summer now want to join, but beggars can’t be choosers and all that!

Will Osula has only played 10 minutes in the Prem this season 👀

I still don’t think I’d want Osula back! One of the rawest footballers I’ve seen. Be amazed if becomes a prem player. Not even convinced on the championship

Ali Al-Hamadi of Ipswich would be my guess not getting mins world be a cracking player to have

Agree, I believe he turned us down on deadline day or something similar. Sky confirmed vs Swansea that we had serious interest in summer. I bet Jackson and Harness have been in his ear so I expect he may be one we sign!

Warne says “The situation we are in “. Christie says “We have a bottom 5 budget “.   Does this mean we are still under some restrictions? Are we still paying debts off ? I don’t know . I just hope Warne and Mo-Bob are in agreement on what type of players we need to get a grip with the Championship .

I just don’t think we have much money do we. Clowes not having loads to invest. Almost trying to be self sufficient, it’s almost impossible.

Think by the time the window opens we will be in a relegation fight unfortunately.

Yes exactly. Mr Clowes is a sensible owner and shrewd businessman. Nevertheless the outgoings of DCFC are significantly higher than earnings, and even the so called magabucks club owners don't like using their own money, they borrow against the club. We've all seen the dark side of that approach. As it stands, the club will in all likelihood, be operating within the constraints of the loan market and the clubs limited salary structure.

Same Clowes who said we had a mid table budget pre-season?

Not knocking him, just that would be a change of tune.

However I can’t see wanting to foot a £10m loss year on year.

Only that’s not what he said is it?

"I think with the budget we have got, it's a good Championship budget and I think we will be competitive," said Clowes, whose full interview with BBC Radio Derby will be broadcast on Monday night.

He said he thinks it’s a good budget and that we will be competitive. There’s no change of tune. We have been competing in each game, and Clowes thinking it’s a good budget doesn’t mean it definitely is compared to other sides, it’s purely his opinion on it.

I agree. The Clowes group made just under £10m profit according to their latest accounts. Can't see DC shovelling all that into Dcfc.

Could it be time to think outside the box ? Florists were a struggling Championship side when they nicked Matt Cash and Breritan as 16 year olds from Stoke and Wycombe W***. Sold on for £22 million . Could be time for Us to try something different.

Jebbison and Al-Hamadi. Both struggling to get minutes, especially Al-Hamadi who has only played 52 minutes in the league this season. I think at the time Ipswich wanted the depth in the striker position, but obviously they didn’t need as much depth as they thought.

Problem is with another loan we are already at the max 5 per matchday squad so either we can somehow cancel one of the loans i.e. Chirewa which could prove tricky if there are no get out clauses or renege on a loan agreement by saying they will not have a guaranteed squad place when fit. By the time we get around to sorting it out in January both those players could have found a place somewhere else.
