 The use of Footrace when describing a race between two players for the ball, is definitely an Americanism. As, unfortunately, is some of the other more modern Cliches now being used here.

I'm the box AND around the edge of the box. Not sure how that isn't self explanatory?

On the limit of what's acceptable? A more inexperienced player may try to be as 'clean' as possible.
