Calke Abbey Filming

Recommended Posts

Lots of marquees and loads of what looks like scenery, plus green screens and scaffolding going up at Calke.

All I could get out of people was:" 2 months to set up!!!, 2 weeks filming", (be autumn by then), "a significant TV production"

Couldn't  see a heli pad for Tom Cruise or a Harrison Ford jeep.

Anybody know whats going on?

Filming at Calke Abbey this summer

Calke is hosting a production company from 5 August – 20 September. During this time, the stableyard, smithy yard and brewhouse tunnels will be closed. The income generated from filming will fund vital conservation work at Calke, so this special place remains intact for generations to come.

Still... talking of Calke Abbey and films... I got roped into going to watch Dirty Dancing at their outdoor cinema a few summers back (2019?).
If that's not bad enough, I've now gone and fell for it again... Grease this time... on Thursday!  The bloody picnic better be top notch!  🙄

Sometimes, I just wish I was single!  👀

Web page: That much I knew but still doesn't say what it's going to be!

I said I couldn't really add anything!  🙄

But at least I proved you weren't just hallucinating, by providing the link. 👀

Sometimes, I don't know why I bother!  😲

#justjapes 🤓😉🍻

I think it's clear they're deliberately/consciously trying to keep it under wraps for whatever reason.

Seeing as Derby is such a shitole (apparently), It'll probably be a period drama called Downtrodden Abbey!  🤓

🤷‍♂️

Hope you know the words to all the songs. The advertising I saw at Calke Abbey said it was a sing-along showing of Grease.

I'll just do the "Shoo-wop-sha-whada-whadda-yippidy boom-da-boom, Chang-chang, changity-chang-shoo-bop" bit near the end.

  • 1 month later...

30 Trucks and Vans. About 70 cars in the (now) private car park. Massive marquee, no wonder TV production cost are so high.

4 brown horses and a 4 wheel coach. One totally white horse.

No word on what it is apart from rumours it'll be on Netflix.

I think its either a remake of "The Lone Range" or a woke version of "Black Beauty"

Exterior scenes for the next series of Bridgerton would be my wild stab in the dark.

Look for clues, such as discarded Merkins in the woods. 👀
