Crewton Posted Wednesday at 07:56 Share Posted Wednesday at 07:56 Good to see Ben getting games under his belt and doing well there. Gateshead is obviously the place for our young players to get development experience.

Ram@Lincoln Posted Wednesday at 08:59 Share Posted Wednesday at 08:59 https://uk.sports.yahoo.com/news/exclusive-crisis-hit-reading-pull-150108220.html Quote Reading have pulled their under-21s out of a newly-created competition by the Premier League in another alarming development at the crisis-hit club. The Premier League have devised the new competition in a bid to boost elite development, with 16 non-league clubs to be pitted against 16 Premier League 2 clubs with Category One academies. Reading were initially selected to play in Group A with Brighton, Fulham, Southampton, Aldershot, Maidenhead, Wealdstone and Woking. They have since been replaced by Championship club Derby County. Might have been interesting to go to a few of the non league grounds up here. Oh, well, good for the southerners!

Ram@Lincoln Posted Wednesday at 13:28 Share Posted Wednesday at 13:28 From reading the press release on the Wealdstone website and matching to the Derby website, although we're in a group with Fulham, Brighton and Southampton - the U21's teams don't play each other, just playing the non league teams. Who in turn don't play each other, and only play the U21 teams. The top two teams from each group qualify then for the knockouts starting at round of 16. The Wealdstone fixtures for example: Quote Group A stage: vs Southampton U21s: 1st October, 19:00 KO vs Fulham U21s: 5th November, 19:00 KO vs Derby County U21s: TBC vs Brighton & Hove Albion U21s: 21st January, 19:00 KO https://www.wealdstone-fc.com/post/introducing-the-national-league-cup
