Perth Glory want Sterjovski

Perth Glory boss Dave Mitchell is keen on Derby County striker Mile Sterjovski.

"I've got a good relationship with him and I did speak to him and we've had negotiations about the possibility, if Derby let him go, about coming here," Mitchell said.

"Going over there and talking to him will be ideal.

"I know the character of the player and he's a very good player.

"It'd be nice to get a marquee player, but you've got to make sure you get the right marquee player.''

Probably the most unrealiable site on the internet for rumours, this is the site that said we were interested in Bannan 2 days after he had signed for us. But it's still a rumour I guess.

Sterjovski has not impressed me, and has not been given much of a chance. He could be a decent international player and if he's not going to play for us, he might as well be Glory's 'marquee player'. It would be great to see him help the Australian Football League develop.

mile has been linked with a new club to the aussie A LEAGUE,

GOLD COAST UNITED this will be thier 1st season , the are owned by a billionaire clive palmer who will be wanting a good 1st season,

being as i live on the gold coast i will be getting a season ticket and supporting my local side ,

i have to admit the standard out here at the moment is no where near english ccc standard , but (soccer) as they call it is growing quicker than a chinese olympian on steroids ,

taking nothing away from the aussies they do have a few decent players out here that mr clough might want to take note of,i hold them in a lot higher esteem than the 2 we have at derby

lets see what your summer brings!

there,s only 1 league at present the a league,

yes your right it is a strange set up,

i think the fact that gold coast have mr palmer a billionaire has something to do with them getting a smooth ride into the a league, strange how money talks ?

Only one league? surely that takes any excitement and dissapointment from football, no relegation battles no promotions. Do the winners or top 6 get to play in cup competiton the season after like the Champions League for Asian and Oceana teams?

fully agree with you boycie, they are sports mad!

if the english had the same sort of winning mentality that the aussies do we would be world beaters,

if you win the a league(not hard i know, think long eaton utd might be in with a shout) then you go in to the equivelant of the champions league , with clubs from china ,japan and the oceania islands , whoopee doo!

but im getting a season ticket for the gold coast this season so i can teach the aussies a few derby chants !
