TheHomunculusLives
One of the concerns often raised about the current Derby squad is the lack of players with genuine pace, with the possible exception of Mendez Laing. So who are the fastest players you've seen in a Derby shirt during your years watching The Rams? In recent years, Ebosele is probably the quickest I've seen, going further back, Dean Sturridge was very explosive off the mark. Older fans say Colin Todd was very quick. duncanjwitham
Fikayo Tomori - not sure I've ever seen a player get caught so far out of position and get away with it so many times, because he could make up 10 yards on a striker without breaking a sweat. angieram, Carnero, Adslegend and 7 others 4
Gee SCREAMER !!
Saunders was quick. Still remember him burning Paul Parkers arse when he turned him. Marriott was quick when played in the proper way. Tommy Johnson was quick but then had average end product.
YorkshireRam
Think Theo Robinson may technically be the fastest, as I'm sure I read he trained to be a sprinter but chose football instead Dean (hick) Saunders
Wistaston Ram
as a kid, I used to think Gary Micklewhite was quick, always seemed to arrive at the back post to score from crosses from the left wing, maybe my memory is playing tricks and he just had good positional sense. What a great player and servant to the club he was. Steve Buckley’s Dog, CBRammette, Magicman and 3 others 3

Simmo’s left foot
Dean Saunders, he picked up a ball from a clearance, against QPR and ran 2/3 length of the BBG pitch and scored, holding off Paul Parker who was meant to be the fastest in the top division at the time. I was in the popside, and everybody went bonkers 🙂 Carl Sagan, Magicman, bails1946 and 2 others 4
Ellafella
Paulo Wanchope…visual illusion. Looked slow as, but engulfed the turf like a combined harvester 😲 Edited October 13, 2023 by Ellafella NG2Ram and Magicman

Push it 20 yards ahead and outsprint defenders. uttoxram75
FKANorwichExile
Sturridge was lightning before the injuries started to add up. Being so short somehow made him look even faster because his legs were going like Roadrunner. Giles Barnes had a good turn of pace too, but I'm not sure he ever reached top speed without getting his legs taken out.

SSD
Theo Robinson was rapid. A shame he had the worst first touch of any Derby footballer in the last 30 years. Chester40
FindernRam
Alan Hinton never seemed to tire. Colin Todd explosive over a short distance Wee Archie over the mud was uncatchable. RoyMac5

Norwichram2
Terry Curran was quick and beat players for fun. No end product though (for us at least) like lots of others blessed with pace....
