GlastoEls
A great side. Good on them. (And maybe it’ll be us celebrating, some time or other having watched West Ham, City, Sheff Wed etc etc go nuts in recent days!) LeedsCityRam
Bris Vegas
Thought Inter were pretty unlucky then. Good that it was settled without much controversy. Ruben Dias and Ederson were City’s best players by a mile. LeedsCityRam
Van der MoodHoover
City played quite poorly I thought. Thankfully for them, the Inter chances fell to lukaku who rose to the occasion to show what a lumpen donkey he is.....🤣
AndyinLiverpool
What happens when two Italian teams play each other? Is it always 0-0? Does someone eventually score by accident? kevinhectoring

Mr Tibbs
A close game but the two sides are miles apart. If the other supposedly best team in Europe can only set out to stop the other team playing it's a pretty sorry state of affairs. Doesn't look out of place in League One but it made a dire spectacle for the continents biggest game of the year. A victory for football. angieram

Ambitious
My wife’s entire family are City fans. They lost their dad, who was a huge fan a couple years ago, so I’ve taken her younger brother a few times this year. I’ve grown a fondness for them, especially the genuine fans who have been where we are, but can’t lie - tonight I just feel a complete emptiness because I’m more likely to see Derby go bust than win a major trophy. I simply won’t experience the things they've got to experience. I’ll also have a fight on my hands to who my own son supports, and uphill one at this rate. New champions Napoli play some wonderful stuff, as do Maurizio Sarri's Lazio & Milan (sporting Fikayo Tomori at CB). Inter were faced with a formidable opponent tonight & did exactly what they should have done - didn't over-commit, aggressive intensity throughout & tried to make the game as niggly as possible. Only poor finishing denied them a 4th European crown, which surely confirms how sensible their gameplan was. Poor finishing denied them a draw if they’d have equalised they’d have just sat back again they created nothing until they went behind. I still think their game plan was right though I think city would have won a open game comfortably

I mean we just going to ignore there was literally a team in the Champions League this season who had TWICE the wage bill of Man City? Man City are a medium sized football club, one who were still turning up week in, week out in League One, while their inner city rivals won a treble. Their spending has only allowed them to compete financially at the top table - Man Utd are still the highest net spenders and have competed with them financially over the years. A core of their team have also played in the EFL at some point in their career - Stones, Walker, Grealish, Mahrez, Phillips, Carson… so they’ve spent money on players, but not just on names. The recruitment has been outstanding. It’s great to see a club with genuine fans, fans who didn’t start following a club because of their success, actually quite the opposite, get a taste of real success. How many people IF born in Manchester in the 80s/90s would not support the side winning every week for a side knocking about in the Football League? They’re the fans we should really think about and congratulate. EranioIsGod, TigerTedd, Rammy03 and 1 other 1

They are a proper football club who have been fortunate to have very rich owners take them over. As far as I’m aware they pay all their bills and don’t owe any money. The owners have also been pioneers for the women’s game in this country and have raised the standards of what elite clubs should look like - the academy set up, the coaching, education, etc. It’s truly outstanding. kevinhectoring
really enjoyed watching it. Inzaghi deserved as many plaudits in the manager stakes as Pep tonight though. Thought inter did really well not least keeping Haarland quiet, by his standards. Amazed they could play the game they did in that heat. I think city would have won more comfortably if De Bruyne had stayed on. They are still a different team without him. Stones is unrecognisable compared to the player we saw a couple of years ago. Have been a great fan of Walker recently and was surprised he didn't start. But the FFP shadow hanging over them is a big problem …. in other sports winners get stripped of their titles if they’ve been guilty of cheating …

Agreed, A poor spectacle imo, Haarland was choked out of the game, I tame shot, Inters midfield were quite happy to defend 10 yards outside the box, The goal was very good. Inter with 2 chances near the end, One stopped by Lukaku, The other missed by Lakaku, The save to pretty much quote the commentator...the greatest save in Man Citys history...or summat like that.
