How is attendance measured

PP looked well under half full on Tuesday night yet the official figure was 20000. To my untrained eye it was far less than that.

Are they counting ST holders whether they turn up or not?

That would make sense to have some sort of link between attendance figures and revenue.

it always used to be that all season ticket holders were counted, whether they attended or not, because of levies to the Football League and therefore recognising season ticket payments on a game by game basis.

How that works now with many of us using "free" season tickets carried over from last season, god only knows.

Definitely didn't look like 20,000 on Tuesday.

Same here. Judging by the seat availabilty figures, there would have been around 8,000 left in home areas, 2,000 left in the away areas, whjch would mean around 22,500 seats sold, of which around 16,000 are STs. A no-show rate for ST holders of 12.5% would give you the 20,500 figure.

The amount of piss through the urinals is what I had heard.

Then you heard wrong.

It's actually those foot markers in front of the urinals..  They are sensor pads, hence the need for you to stand directly on them.  If you're not lined up on them correctly, or stand in between them, you don't get counted.  You are a nobody.  You don't even exist!
If you use a cubicle, you have to wave your hand up and down to set off the magic eye. (PM @DarkFruitsRam7 for full details)

Obviously it's different for the ladies... they have a laser line sensor set 2.75 inches (70mm) above the seat, for when they're hovering!  If they touch the seat, or their skirt dangles, alarms go off, and they all have to go straight to the decontamination area, before being allowed back in to the stadium.

Attendance figures relate directly to sold seats don't they? As such season ticket holders whether there in person or not should be counted.

They really shouldn't!

"The number of people present at a particular place or event."

Non-attendees have every right to be counted in a figure for sold tickets.
The money spent by non-attendees has every right to be counted in a figure for income and/or ticket sales.

Non-attendees really, really, really should not be included in any figure laying claim to the number of attendees!  It's so obvious, I didn't even need to check with Google first!
