I get your point, but I would be happy to wait for one that is at least better than Ashley before selling the future of our football club.

Also, I should point out, that this is a poll with multiple ownership options. A multiple choice question…and the vast majority of this forum are actively picking Ashley?!? What is going on.

I can only assume it’s because people are assuming he is the wealthiest and picking him, despite the well catalogued history.

The problem is, there isn't time to wait for a "better" : if a take-over isn't ready to go through by the end of the year, we'll lose most of our sellable players and we might not even then have sufficient funds for the Administrators to consider keeping the club going. That's reality.

I'm guessing that other potential bidders are not attracting much support because we don't know what substance they have, or confirmation of where the money is coming from. Run this again when there's more detail of the individual bidders.

You say this, but I think we would have a comfortable life under Ashley. He has a poor reputation for Newcastle, but in all fairness he established them as a lower premier league side. Would you not take that? I certainly would.

has he???

they got relegated twice in his time, and have struggled to stay in the premier league each season.

Sad part is the only good thing about Morris was him throwing money about initially ‘being a fan’ we all know how that’s materialised. However going forward we need to appreciate however buys the club will be doing so purely for business purposes and stability is key.

I think that’s where Mr Ashley will work out, he will stabilise invest where he can based on what the club makes and that’s that. Certainly a good person to steady the ship, but of course wouldn’t be particularly fussed about the club but then again probably still more so than Mel has been for the last year or so.

Anyone looking at that list and thinking I hope none of them buy the club, well you're effectively saying you hope the club ceases to exist.

Sure it's not an ideal list but we're are far from being in an ideal situation.

If the choice is one of the above OR no more Derby County, I know which one I'd pick...

The reality of DCFC's situation is that it's going to take years to recover from this, and we need someone who will get us to a financially stable position.  Unfortunately the only one of the poll choices that I could see sticking around for that long is Mike Ashley.  I'd rather take his as owner and be financially sorted and stable in a decade, rather than DCFC disappearing by this time next year.

If there was a genuine consortium that was headed by a billionaire with deep pockets and long arms, then obviously I'd take them over Mike Ashley (does anyone have a phone number for Elon Musk??), but in their absence, Mike Ashley has 14 years of experience with Newcastle behind him and £300 million in his pocket.

Ashley is a long, long way from being the most disreputable owner in English football. He's certainly not my ideal, but If you want to wait around for a model, squeeky-clean bidder, you might have a long wait and, in the meantime, DCFC in its current form will be no more.

For allegedly worse  disreputable owners you don’t have to travel far up the A52 …..

As this is Derby County, the eventual owner will be the one least preferred by the supporters and who has the shallowest pockets.
We will have gone from a sheikh with access to supposed billions, to a Spanish fly-by-night who promised Champions League football to someone akin to Jeremy Keith.

The name is irrelevant. The background of the person is irrelevant.

Mel was the dream owner in many ways, but he has done more damage than anybody in it's history.

All I want from an owner is for them to give me something to be proud off, a relatable team that tgives their all every week. Stop chasing unrealistic dreams, if it means we have to overachieve to get to the Premier League then so be it. Run the club properly and stop this casino style running off my club. That is all I want from an owner.
