Comrade 86
Let's be honest. It's a poo idea rooted solely in increased cash for the FIFA coffers. As such, its a stone cold certainty. Coneheadjohn, MuespachRam, Anon and 1 other

Evidently, the politics involved are clouding the debate, putting competing interests against each other just months after they were united in attacking the doomed European Super League plan. Wenger rejects the claim of tournament dilution by pointing out the impact of Covid-19 means this year's major international competitions in Europe, South America and North America will be followed by a World Cup next year... Former Australia and Everton star Tim Cahill admitted Fifa is a big supporter of the Aspire Academy in Qatar, where he is chief sports officer... "I spoke to [former Wigan and Reading keeper] Ali Al-Habsi, who spent 19 years trying to qualify for a World Cup [with Oman] and never made it - 133 countries never have." Seriously, why is the number of countries that haven’t participated the right metric. Why not keep the WC as it is and have a tournament between world cups that only the bottom say 50 countries can enter?
Guest
According to the BBC website ‘A majority of fans would support a men's World Cup every two years instead of four, according to a survey commissioned by world football governing body Fifa. A biennial tournament is part of Fifa's plans for a revamped football calendar’.

Ive not spoke to anyone who believes its a good idea. Every football fan I know says its an absolutely shocking idea. "do you support the holding of the WC every 2 years, thereby generating these large dollops of cash for your association to, er, invest in local infrastructure.....? ...... Or not?" ?
