Our own song (yes this again)

We are Derby, Super Derby is simple and sounds great. The best times that I’ve been at a match is when it has been sung and there’s no sign of it stopping. It would be a fabulous habit to get into (home and away), if the fans started singing it on the 85th minute till the end.

That makes two of us then.

It was a great moment in time quickly overtaken by a poor final and an inept season on and off the field.

Loved it when we did it but will forever be associated with that season and what might have been.

That moment in time was good though

That's partly the point though?

"Hold up
Hold on
Don't be scared
You'll never change what's been and gone

May your smile (may your smile)
Shine on (shine on)
Don't be scared (don't be scared)
Your destiny may keep you warm

Good god no.

A song idea copied from Leeds who are, although we may have turned it back around on them for all of about a week, the team who had the last laugh and finished last season 9th in the Premier League and being admired for their approach to football, while we were avoiding relegation to League One on the final day.

Could it get any more tinpot?

That and it's part of the 90's / early 00's Britpop nostalgia wankfest that's plagued the country (especially football fans) ever since, from a band the media are still somehow obsessed with despite not even being a band since 2009, with their constituent members producing nothing but a stream of very average & unremarkable, stuck in the same era music in the meantime.

Good, good, appreciate your reciprocal suggestions!

You won't convince me! It will forever be associated in my memory with Frank Lampard and our failure to get promoted.

Lots of suggestions but it has to be something everyone knows, or at least a big majority.

Very few suggestions meet that criteria. Only @sage really come close so far. My only question is how you convert But- ter- cup to Der-by- ?

@DarkFruitsRam7 is the one you're suggesting the Lampard Leeds song? If so, I would be against for that reason.

Need something timeless that is about us, not the opposition.

I am not sure you have to change the words

In fact I think it works better left the same

You'll Never Walk Alone, Delilah, Hi Ho - for example

Just make it the club song - make it happen, not by changing the words - if you get me

I don't want to change the words, it was Sage suggested it but NO-ONE has answered how you can convert But-ter-cup to Der-by. It's bugging me!

Can’t believe that whilst ‘woolly bully’ is staring you all in the face you are all trying to work Simply Red, or whatever it is, into relevancy.

Woolly Bully ticks every box, you’d want in a song for Derby fans to sing.

Does anyone know the lyrics?

Love the song, btw, dance classic.

There's really no point in me suggesting anything, I find 95% of all music befitting the collective conscience of football fans to be intolerable muck. I'm only explaining my reasoning for objecting to one particularly irksome suggestion. I don't really find any of the other suggestions problematic.

Great song I’ve had downloaded for years. The verses are a bit vague though. Can’t see a crowd getting to grips with them. The chorus, yeah, very simple and catchy.

Uno dos, one two tres quatro

Ay, wooly bully
Watch it now, watch it

Here he comes, here he comes
Watch it now, he get 'cha

Matty told Hatty
About a thing she saw
Had two big horns
And a wooly jaw

Wooly bully
Wooly bully
Yeah drive
Wooly bully
Wooly bully
Wooly bully

Hatty told Matty
Let's don't take no chance
Let's not be L-seven
Come and learn to dance

Wooly bully
Wooly bully
Wooly bully
Wooly bully
Wooly bully

Watch it now, watch it watch it watch it
Ay

Ay, drive, drive, drive

Matty told Hatty
That's the thing to do
Get you someone really
Pull the wool with you

Wooly bully
Wooly bully
Wooly bully
Wooly bully
Wooly bully

Watch it now, watch it, here he comes
You got it, you got it
