These things happen organically, you can't force them.

Didn't Stoke adopt Delilah when someone was shouting to their friend Tom Jones further ahead in the crowd, for instance?

Maybe that's why Steve Bloomers Watching hasn't been completely taken in? We should have carried on with White Christmas if you remember the game against Newport Dec 1985? - although it would be a strange song on a Hot August Night

I first started going to games in Arthur's last few seasons, but White Christmas would still get a regular airing on the Popside back then.

We do have our very own ditty, just need to jazz it up a bit:

As I was going to Derby, Sir,

All on a market day,

I met the finest Ram, Sir,

That ever was fed on hay.

Daddle-i-day, daddle-i-day,

Fal-de-ral, fal-de-ral, daddle-i-day.

This Ram was fat behind, Sir,

This Ram was fat before,

This Ram was ten yards high, Sir,

Indeed he was no more.

Daddle-i-day, etc.

The Wool upon his back, Sir,

Reached up unto the sky,

The Eagles made their nests there, Sir,

For I heard the young ones cry.

Daddle-i-day, etc.
