Lets see.

Bruce - Noted promotion specialist and considered a good man for a budget side. Had a decent career.

Giggs -  Did OK with Wales to be fair despite his personal qualities.

Hughes - Took Blackburn in to European football, had a reasonable management career with some big jobs.

Blanc - Won 8 trophies with PSG.

Keane - Does have a promotion to his name but in the end very average manager.

Robson - Oversaw the greatest escape in Prem history, other than that very average manager.

Strachan - Won 6 trophies in Scotland and wasn't too bad in the Prem.

Obviously a number of ex-players that weren't great but it seems a reasonable balance of success to me. Shall we list the Dutch managers or should we just save some time?

Like I said, pretty even spread 50/50, I was responding to a post saying ex Man Utd players have a rep for turning in to poor managers. I think this proves that is not the case.

I really don’t give a poo about statistics, that’s what I mean about being at a game live, as a supporter I will always back whoever is in charge but I was at Brentford away which is one of the worst performances I have seen in over 50 years of watching Derby and saw Cocu get a barrage of abuse at halftime. Fast forward to this season and I have seen nothing but support for the manager and players from the fans at the games and the atmosphere has been brilliant regardless of the result.

Worst performances in over 50 years? I'm sorry but talk about overreacting.

We lost 3-0 at a team who won promotion and is now midtable Premier League and it was still in August where we were still playing catch up after an awful pre-season schedule.

The 3-0 defeat at Brentford wasn't even in the top five worst performances of the past year.

The 3-0 defeat at Preston and 4-0 at Cardiff at the back end of last season was worse for starters.

I know we somehow won at Wycombe last season, but that ranks as one of the worst professional games I have witnessed. Last minute win should be joy and relief that was embarrassment.

I don’t ever recall Derby beating Sunderland in my 25 years of actively watching the Rams.

That performance was truly dreadful.

Shortly followed by the embarrassment Vs Burton.

Watched it on holiday from a top floor balcony, couldn't decide whether to throw the iPad or myself off the balcony, so did neither.

I do remember us absolutely battering Sunderland on the first day of a season, probably under Cox.

Which seems quite recent, but probably is more than 25 years ago.

You are talking statistics again where I am talking about being at the game, I said ONE of the worst performances not necessarily in terms of the score line. We were actually above Brentford when we played and it was the first game after the 3-0 embarrassing   defeat at forest where we played the kids against our local rivals so that we would be fully prepared for Brentford. We were completely overrun in the first half with a completely isolated Buchanan who was replaced at half time. You say I am overreacting but with better finishing we would have been 8 nil down at half time. All this is from memory but as you like to look at it from a statistical point of view I looked it up, they had 22 shots we didn’t have a shot on target and they were sat in their deckchairs for the second half
