ilkleyram
For those of us of a certain age Mike Hendrick was, like Bob Taylor, evidence that Derbyshire CC could produce and have picked genuine England international cricketers. He was a fine bowler in an era that included the likes of Botham and Willis, without ever quite nailing a permanent spot in the England attack but he never let anyone down and had fantastic stats in both the one day game as well as the longer form. He's died from cancer at the age of 72. Happy memories.
angieram
Very sad. Saw this lovely photo on Twitter of one last reunion with him for some of cricket's great players of the era. A fitting tribute.

Loved watching Hendrick, in that team with Kirsten, Miller, Tunnicliffe, Wright and others. And what a lovely touch to have all those come to say their farewells rather than come three weeks later and mutter a few words at a wooden box - like their style. David Griffin is possibly my favourite twitter account, puts up some great photos every day. And what a lovely thing for them to do, that’s real friendship.
