Nasty coincidence that the forest finance guy is now on the EFL board - oh look a low ball offer for a very decent young player

no doubt the EFL have told us to sell some players - things like that don’t happen do they ?

Yes….the EFL once told Birmingham they had to accept a low ball offer for Che Adams whilst under embargo, they refused and sold him for double the following transfer window.

And didn’t they get charged for not following EFL instructions? The EFL are going around basically telling clubs who they can select and who they must sell - Jack Marriott another example our £5 million pound player ( good or not) who we extended his contract only for the EFL to cancel it and we lose a £5 million asset - something very sordid going on.

Wasn't the Marriott contract extension revoked by the EFL because we hadn't paid the instalment to Peterborough for him, one of the charges we had hanging over us, so technically you could argue he wasn't our player as we hadn't paid for him.........

I haven't seen anything to substantiate that rumour - It may have been speculation by a forum member

All we know is we were under some kind of embargo and the contract offered wasn't approved by the EFL

It was reported that one of our breaches was failure to pay a transfer installment to another club, but if so it's unlikely to have been relating to a transfer from summer 2018. If it'd been Marriott, I can't imagine Macanthony sticking up for Mel as he has done.

With Marriott it's likely to have been because his wages were well in excess of the £4.5k pw that the EFL have restricted us to, since contract extensions are treated the same as new signings under their new embargo system designed just for us.
