Academy Thread 21/22

Well, apparently Stretton has hit the post and there was a long stoppage when the West Ham goalie (Hegyi) collided with his centre half Laing, who recovered enough to get up and walk off but was substituted. And the lino has also now been replaced by the fourth official.

Are substitutions of officials still sponsored by Ron Brookes Toyota?

Notice the 2 letters of the Loughborough sign still haven't been fixed since last match, can we not even afford lightbulbs?

Wonder if the microphone was repossessed?

No wonder we're in a financial mess if we're paying for the maintenance of Loughborough Universities sports facilities 😀

Difficult first half with the stoppages but although we started the brighter West Ham looked the better side for me for most of that.

23s football is so difficult for lads that have been with the first team. Completely different style of football and different demands. Last week Isaac Hutchinson and Liam Thompson took a bit of criticism for not ‘bossing’ the game v Everton despite both being the only ‘fringe’ players playing and looking the 23s best players….but tonight you can see how tough it is with up to 6 ‘fringe’ players involved and all struggling to make any real impact.

Good game though to be honest…fast paced and technically excellent between both sides.
