Carl Sagan
When we lost the great McFarland for a season and were going to be stuck with a reserve who'd been with the club a decade but hardly ever played, I was devastated and extremely sceptical. Yet with this fella playing in central defence, we won the league! How brilliant Peter Daniel turned out to be that season. oldtimeram
Archie Gemmill. He followed wee Willie Carlin and I wasn't a fan at first, but soon recognised his qualities. IslandExile

Scooter
Cameron Jerome, when he came I thought ffs, but his goals got us in the playoffs, if he'd stayed I think he could've done a job for us. May Contain Nuts, chelloram and r_wilcockson 2
Charliegeorge1962
Derek Hales, thought he was overrated when we bought him and soon realised he actually had 2 left feet and neither of to them were facing forward. I do remember nicknaming him spud when i would talk about Saturdays game at school.
Bob The Badger
Frannie Lee was fat and over the hill, Charlie George was just a diva and Gerry Daly the product of a good team round him. I really know my stuff. NottsRam77, Reggie Greenwood, Premier ram and 1 other 2

baiano27
Tommy Johnson. Thought he was the worst of signings at the start of the Pickering era but a change of position from out wide to centre when Kitson left and he was transformed.

Iniestagram
David Nish, signed for big money from Leicester. He was poor for 6 months, then became one of the best players in the top division, played quite a few games for England. Same years later with Chris Powell, underwhelming for 6 months, got better and better, and played for England after we’d let him go Dordogne-Ram, Bob The Badger, Reggie Greenwood and 1 other 3

Paul Dickov was a lot better than I thought he was. I wouldn't have remembered these two but yeah, I'm stealing these answers
