The same Wilder that wanted £70,000 a week at Sheffield United and left because of that

I wasn’t aware of that.

It’s madness but when you think about it, it’s only £20,000 a week more than we (or 32Red) are reportedly paying Rooney.

But we’d be getting a far more accomplished manager and coach with a good track record in this division and a knack of getting a less than spectacular group of players to perform way above their level.

I know maybe it’s an ambitious choice. But he’s out of work - so what’s the harm in aiming high?

Is that the Wilder that was in charge of a team that were challenging our low points total?

Why is he the messiah all of a sudden?

Agree... reminds me of someone else who had a few good seasons..Took Bradford City up to the Premier League and kept them there...took little Wigan up to the Premier League and kept them there...then became our manager and was an unmitigated disaster. One of our ex players has just won his third promotion of his short career with Bolton Wanderers.Another manager 10 miles down the road took over a team absolutely rock bottom .. brought in 12 new players within a couple of days and totally smashed it and kept them up with ease.Is there any certainties or guarantees in football? Nope but in my opinion these are the sort of hungry candidates we should be looking at....Men who need to perform well in their job to be able to pay the mortgage and look after their families..not multi zillionaires who have no financial worries whatever happens.

No not at all.

I'd be happy to consider him as our next manager once our current manager has been given a shot with his own signings.

He took over with us bottom of the league and kept us up. Job done. Not bad for someone learning on the job.

You seem happy to quote Rooney stats but ignore Wilder stats? Dont remember Rooney having £25m to spend on a player either?

To be honest it doesn’t matter what I think, WR is still the manager, Wilder is a pipe dream and I’m fed up of being stressed out by the club I love so I’m just going to enjoy the EFL on Quest whilst drinking a cold can of Magners tonight. Cheers! ?

I think you will find Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink is in the list of multi millionaires. He does it because he wants too.

One thought I had throughout the second half.

You, me and anyone with half an eye of the Championship in recent years could highlight Barry Bannan as Sheff Weds main threat.

So why on earth did we leave him unmarked on the half way line all second half, and give him the time and space to play unimpeded?

Couldn't a championship specialist point out that CKR would be better served stood on Bannans toes, than 20 yards from their only threat?

Same reason nobody tracked jutkiewicz twice from crosses.  It does seem on reflection, that simple.  Hopefully WR and co will learn from these fairly basic mistakes or bring in a coach that can already see this and deal with it.  More worried about this than the lack of goals.  We can try and buy another striker, but we can’t buy the lack of vision defensively we are both worried about.

I reckon Waghorn will be a Ram next season. I have just read a meme quoting Rooney saying "When i was a player me and Waghorn were really close, and wold be playing on the Playstation all the time. When i became manager i had to distance myself from him and that really hurt .......................".  That does make sense - watching them working together at free-kicks, in particular the one against Stoke which meant the keeper had no idea which way the ball was going to go said there was a good friendship between them. I poo-pooed it at the time because of the gulf in skill and ability, b ut there it is. It also explains how Waggy could produce n othing for match after match and still get picked.

What Waggy needs to do is produce what he did today on a regular basis. Who knows what he can achieve if he does that.

That’s fine @DavesaRambut there is a few players that we could pick games and say the same thing.  Consistent performances are what we’ve lacked from a lot of players.

However, pre WR and PC I remember Waggy being put through for a 1 on 1 with a keeper quite a few times.  Admittedly he didn’t usually score but if he had that service season after season including this year he would’ve put some of them away and we would not be relying on Rotherham.

Well all i will  say is, Once A Positive Ram Always A Positive Ram, so pleased we are still a championship club , now for things to get sorted and quickly behind the scenes, a lot of work to do now, so hope the ownership of the club is sorted out quickly

What a bloody day! Just taking stock and having a muted celebration with a glass or two of vegan Prosecco ( the other half’s a veggie).

Admittedly I did have a can of super  strong IPA immediately after the final whistle but that was just to straighten the day out.
