Unbelievable we gave this Bamford a 2 and a half year contract as manager. Ridiculous to reward a novice manager with a contract like that.

Why we didn't just keep him on probation as caretaker until the end of the season was absolutely crazy.

He would have been out on his arse and we could have had a proper manager in by now if they had.

That makes horrific reading mate but yet here we are, nearly relegated to boot and we still listening to Wayne's nonsense pre and post game interviews.

In what other team would records like the above be tolerated and it's manager rewarded by continuing on like we are comfortably mid table with nothing to play for?

Easy.

A team that can't/won't be liable for another massive pay off, with the owners final chance of being shot of a financial millstone of his own making around his neck.

If you'd have told Mel Morris CBE, upon entering ownership, that his final decision as owner was whether or not to replace England's and Manchester United's record goalscorer as manager before a foreign takeover, he'd have been ordering in quantities of Brasso, not preparing for League One.

In fairness Kash, the overriding sentiment on here around Dec/Jan was that we needed to make his appointment permanent to avoid 'uncertainty'. We hadn't seen him come through a downturn in results so at that point was a risky call.

Think it was also thought it may have put potential signings off coming in Jan but given we only traded in loans, that rationale doesnt really make sense in hindsight.

Broader point, clearly managers have been sacked for much less but given the ownership transfer, I would be very surprised if Rooney went before that was concluded.

My thoughts exactly. Another stupid decision from the club.

To think, if we’d ditched Phil when we should have, we could have gone for Chris Hughton. He would have obtained more points than we have now I’ve no doubt about that.

Hughton's PPG record at Forest is almost identical to Rooney's with us.

Considering the sqaud depth, the difference in quality, and the lack of injuries, Hughton's also doing a pretty bad job. What makes you think he'd do any better here?

His interview after the game says it all. We set up to match Birmingham. Why does he always set up to match the opposition and not try to get some sort of style of play that the players can buy in to.

Imagine one week being told to pass it on the floor and then next week you’re told to forget all of that and practice route one all week.

It’s just bonkers and I bet the players are fed up.

hasn't got a record of 6 points from 13 games and has actually succeeded elsewhere and is qualified to manage just those small things...

Yes, I alluded to this earlier, decide on a style of play and make the opposition worry about us..

It's laughable that he's still here. The football is dreadful, the results are the worst I can remember for a long time. Can anyone make a case for keeping him other than the delusional idea that stability somehow fixes the club, or that he's too expensive to sack? Genuinely? Does anyone really have faith Rooney can turn anything around? He is completely out of his depth. Bring McClaren in NOW.
