Match Thread - Blackburn Rovers v Derby County - Friday 16th April, 6pm

Bottom line is that we should not be relying on last minute penalties to win a game of football. We have been crap all season, and deserve to be where we are. If we could score more goals and learn how to defend, then we would be higher up the table. Sure that was a penalty, but Blackburn had at least 4 very good chances to score and if not for Marshall they would have.

The fact that's a pen shouldn't overshadow the fact that we have once again lost a match without making the opposition work for it.

We can't keep blaming refs.

The regularity with which we throw away matches and our total inability to salvage a losing situation is absolutely disgusting and points to a lack of composure, a lack of bottle and the fact that most of this squad don't appear to give a toss.

Exactly, all of this talk about easy games away at Blackburn and Preston...we are nowhere near good enough to have easy games. For all those with their head in the sand, do you accept we are now in a little bit of trouble ?

We were in trouble before, but there was a certain level of confidence that we had enough to get ourselves out of it.

Now we see that we played OK for a bit, gave ourselves a chance and then showed all the grit and determination of a load of wet farts.

So we don't seem to possess the simple battling qualities needed to get ourselves out of trouble. We either have to hope for others to slip up, or take our punishment.

Or do we think we can now turn it round.... Become clinical up front, creative in midfield, and resolute in defence? Any chance of any of those?

3 or 4 top class saves from their keeper, plus the ball hitting the woodwork?

That was the most entertaining game Derby have been involved in for a while. We played well at times but remain goal shy.

Very open at the back and I was confused by Watson and Buchanan coming on. Two naive players when we needed composure.

Thought Bird and Shinnie did well given they were outnumbered.

Roberts and Jozwiak remain all dribble and no shoot.

Blackburn were there for the taking in the first half but were the better side in the second.

At least we had a go.

Looking dodgy now.

We are going down, we should play the rest of the season accordingly and prepare for it because next season could be a mess. We won't be a club that is going down with stability.

What do you suggest? throw in towel, and start planning for next year? I agree it's looking grim but it's not a certainty yet.

Immature level of wummery tonight, even by your own impressive standards.

not at all, I did thoroughly enjoy the game it was an entertaining end to end game with plenty of talking points... and Bird was superb (again) and so was Roberts (he has done more in this game than Jozwiak has done all season)
