I'm just waiting on the reveal that it's actually a consortium of football villains............Ken Bates, Adam Pearson, Billy Davies, Matt Southall, The Oystons, SiSU, the ghost of 1970s Leeds utd, all formed together to create a hub of evil power....but it turned out neither Wednesday or Cardiff could handle the evil....

You're going to love it when Alonso reveals his true identity

And it’s all been orchestrated by Steve Gibson... his final revenge over Mel Morris

You know if the EFL were really looking for payback after the last few issues they'd greenlight any shady consortium in a heartbeat!

?

Nah, what we be peak Derby, and peak EFL would be something like...

This Alonso guy really is the real deal, his backers are genuine and have untold riches. The EFL though see some a small reason within their rules that they can disallow the takeover, it collapses & we go looking for another new buyer before ending up with an absolute walloper who despite passing all the tests (after all, the Sheikh did!)  buys us and over the next couple of years proceeds to ruin us, sending us down to League 2.

Meanwhile, 6 months after they refuse to sanction Alonso's takeover of Derby the EFL make some small adjustments to their rules and he finds another club to buy, the new rules mean his his ownership is approved and within 2 years they've blitzed the Championship, had a top 10 finish in the PL & qualified for Europe by winning a domestic cup.

After the final, Lampard thanks the board for believing in him, and singles out CEO Sam Rush for particular praise during his pitchside interview.

Before being interrupted by Mason Bennett spraying him with champagne.

Has anyone in the know, ie Morris or Alonso, said Raja Oktohari is the backer? because I can't recall either saying anything about the others involved.

it's worrying. Alonso has to say he is acting alone because otherwise the EFL thinks: hmmm are we approving the right person as controller? In reality, if Alonso gets bundles of well-worn rupees from some Indonesian guy, seems likely that guy is in fact a controller. And needs to be approved. Looks like the EFL are already on to this.

This thread seems more about academy finances rather than any Spanish-based takeover.

As for the takeover, I think Kieran McGuire is always desperate to appear in the know and has embarrassed himself over Derby on several occasions.  A self-appointed "football-finance expert", he seems the only source for a link to Raja Oktohari, probably because McGuire does his research on Twitter and has seen the two together. And hopes for a Barry the Ram style scoop.

I am dubious that the takeover will happen. After having his fingers burnt by the fake Sheikh, Mel has surely demanded solid proof of funds. But why would Alonso want to buy us when Championship Clubs are a guaranteed way of ending up with a small fortune? But only if starting out with a large fortune.

In Hollowayesque terms, why buy a house when 120 travellers are about to move in at the bottom of the garden, but on the other hand you could find a lost Rembrandt in the attic.

Have you ever watched Storage Hunters?
