This table shows points based on the buying club, whereas I initially thought it meant where the player is being bought from. The English Championship is Band 2 (10 points). This means Dursun would be granted a work permit. I don’t so I couldn’t comment on whether he is earning it or not. For all we know he might be doing loads in the background or he might be strolling around Costa Del Boro. Or what he's paid. If he's on minimum wage he might earn that just picking up litter around the ground. Grumpy Git and angieram 1

IMO the lesson to be learned from our situation is not to overspend in attempting to gain promotion, build up gradually within our means, which means not accumulating more losses year by year. however, I posted Leeds financials on another thread, they gambles and it has paid off. Look at he differences between the 2 clubs, a cavernous divide in less than 2 years

So depends on what band Darmstadt is in rather than what band we are in.

It's about timing a push correctly. Rather than 13m P&S losses per season, we could opt for £0m loss, £10m loss, £29m loss (then repeat)

RamNut
Let’s face it......We’ve tried everything: building slowly over 5 years bringing in an ex-England manager going mad in the transfer market bringing in top loans Putting faith in the academy hoofing it downfield for sprinters to chase after making dodgy payments, and teaming up with agents Signing legends hiring Real Madrid’s coach hiring a famous Dutch bloke bringing in a TV pundit Hiring a mad man to scare everyone we’ve even tried Harry bloody Redknapp and a four man management committee. A 29 year old Spanish boxer seems almost inevitable.

Table 4 says final position of last club (seller?), whereas that table says current club (buyer?)

Ramarena
There’s certainly things of concern surrounding this takeover. One that stands out for me is, why is Alonso such a good option now after Mel snubbed him to go with the Sheikh? If it goes through we’ll all just have to take him as we find him, there may be some unpalatable stuff on the politics side, but we don’t really know his thoughts on this and we don’t really know what our previous owners political inclinations have been. One positive is that he had a bust up with Chansiri over the appointment of Pulis, with Alonso wanting Paul Cook instead. This at least suggest some knowledge and understanding of this level of the game and the type of manager he would be inclined to appoint! Mostyn6
Why can’t people get their head around the stadium situation! It was an illusion. It was still part of the club! It’s like taking a tenner out of your money pocket and stashing it in a different pocket (to pay for a taxi) ! It’s still there. The fact it was “security” for a loan makes no difference.
