Kieran Maguire was just on Radio Derby and mentioned the name Raja Sapta Oktohari as being the money man behind this. Where KM got that information from I don't know as he normally knows the square root of sod all.

Just had a look, doesn’t look like Oktohari is  worth lots in his own right either, doesn’t feature in any rich lists but his father is worth $355m.

Could be part of a consortium though. We don’t know. But hopefully we’re looking at some people with at least something behind them and not the 3 amigos who literally didn’t have a bean between them.

Is it because the investors are possibly Indonesian that you have an issue with? I would imagine that if they have access to a few million to by a football club, they are probably smarter than you are giving them credit for. Would you feel better if they were Swedish or Canadian?

It's not the "50m" to buy the club, but the "80m" to maybe buy the ground, the monthly burn of, what, "2m" on operating costs then of course there is the required investment on the playing side.  How deep is that pocket is my issue, and do the financial backers really understand the full implications?  Don't care where they come from.

They wouldn't be the first overseas investors "sold a pup" and they won't be the last to realise that the pup is for life, not just Christmas

Funnily enough I don’t really fear a 3 amigos situation .. in the end, they were like the guys who did Rover for BMW’s cash .. cowboys. .... thing is there isn’t anything to nick or even borrow against. I fear mismanagement, a lack of understanding of FFP, the EFL and “rules” but after that they can’t actually rob something that isn’t there.

Sam Longson was Tory and Clough was staunch Labour. Which tells you all you need to know about politics. ?

Before putting Brian Clough on a Tory vs Labour moral pedestal, his views towards Justin Fashanu sexuality and his flexible socialist  attitude when taking a bung make uncomfortable reading. I haven’t got a problem with Brian Clough whatsoever and still consider him a hero but in today’s cancel culture society it’s remarkable how we find a way to excuse the misdemeanours of those we love and weaponise what we can against those we dislike. Michael Jackson, David Bowie and John Peel seemingly get a free pass when it comes to being cancelled whilst poor old Leon Brittan’s family were utterly hounded with what turned out to be a smear campaign.

What I do think is fair is that these questions are raised with Alonso as it’s not unreasonable for fans to want to know about his views on such things. I can’t say I’m particularly thrilled if he has ‘Far’ right views but I find the views of the ‘Far’ left as equally deplorable and neo liberal cancel everybody and everything bunch the worst of the lot. This probably means the chances of us finding a perfect custodian of the club as I would like it pretty remote.

David Bowie ? He was one who helped out ( as in point out ) Jonathon King as as an abuser

How dare you..... us 29 year olds are the best of the best and if someone would just give us a chance to run a football club we would show you all up.

I am also 29, so I most certainly agree. I just don’t think a 29 year old who claims to be a world champion boxer with no prior link to the club or his own money is really the best option. Any network looking to do a football documentary absolutely must be on the phone now.
