We bought him for £6m and sold him for £8m.

We bought him for £4.5m, and sold him for £11m.

No idea if that's correct, but it's probably as close as your figures.

Not sure where you’re getting those figures from. I thought we bought him for 4.75m, and sold for a record fee in excess of 10m.

It was £8m with add ons.

When looking at his cost, you have to remember the 'scouting fees'.

The accounts do suggest £6m probably isn't too far off when you include agents fees.

£22m was spent in that summer on players (transfer fees and agents fees). Split that up however you want (fees paid for Johnson, Ince, Butterfield, Weimann and Shackell; Baird, Bent, Pearce and Csrson brought in on frees)

Moxey - £405k
Maguire - £400k
B Davies - £370k
Fielding - £315k
Legzdins - £200k
Coutts - £170k
Forsyth - £160k
T Naylor - £110k
D Martin - £100k
Robinson - £100k

Total cost: c£11m

Plus the likes of Buxton, Roberts, Eustace, Martin, Grant on frees.
Freeman, O'Connor, Tyson, Riggott, Cywka, , Deeney, Pringle, Croft and Hendrie also on free but didn't have much impact.

Christ. Nigel Clough's entire tenure cost as much as Bradley Johnson and Jacob Butterfield.

For me it's got to be Tom Ince. I still remember his first game against Bolton where he scored a cracking free kick that opened up the flood gates for us. That day I honestly thought our promotion push was unstoppable and we'd steam roller the division. Vydra and Carson both deserve a mention and if Bradley Johnson hadn't been so extortionate he would be in the running too.  Loved Huddlestone's comeback as well but i admit that might be more nostalgia for me than anything else.

I totally forgot Cole.

okay, so he wasn’t amazing, but I love the fact that both Cole and Rooney have played for us.

Oo, Rooney. I forgot he was a signing too. He counts.

I've gone one step further and made the ultimate XI

Imagine if these legends were in the same team, 100 point season easily.

difficult to leave out Butterfield but you can't play them all.

Worryingly they’d probably paste us just now
