Until he goes to celtic!! Just saying.... Liverpool v Everton now Rangers v Celtic!! Some rivalries are just too good an opportunity to miss!! ??

Be will not do a Lampard and leave an unfinished job.

Manure or Everard only ones he’d be interested in. And he’ll want to have achieved success with us first

Can’t we just enjoy it, then cross this bridge when it comes, if it comes ☹️

Average tenure of a Championship manager is what, 2 seasons? We know it won’t last forever and bigger offers will come in or shown the door, that’s football.

Only difference with Rooney and Lampard than any other manager is their offers will come from much bigger clubs due to their stature in the game and would be difficult to turn down.

There is no long term loyalty in appointing a Rowett for example either, whiff of parachute payment money to spend and they will be off.

Just feels like we don’t get much chance to actually live in the moment anymore, choosing to fear the worst instead.

We have one of the biggest names in the modern era in charge of our club and doing a fine job, let’s enjoy the ride.

For what it’s worth I don’t see either United or Everton looking to change their managers anytime soon. United stood by Ole through the rough patch they had and starting to see improvement.

Everton are also doing as well as can be expected, win the 2 games in hand and they could go to the dizzy heights of 4th.

No need to work the clicker on that @David- I’ve given you a like.

Think Wayne’s taken his inspiration from Sir Alex, always remember the stories of him going on a tirade after his Aberdeen side won the Scottish cup going ballistic because he thought they’d played disgracefully.

In fact, the clip is still around. Wayne’s learned from the best

A classic rant - they’d just won the Cup!

What's surprised many is the way he's gone about sorting out the defence as his number one priority. Recognising that we haven't got a wealth of attacking talent currently available in the squad, tightening up at the back and dramatically reducing the number of individual errors was essential to starting the long haul of picking up points to move us away from our lowly position when he took over. Concentrate more on doing the basics right, reduce mistakes and one, occasionally two goals at the other end was probably the most effective way of turning our fortunes around.

Assuming Rooney steers us to safety this season, it gives him time to then look beyond this campaign at increasing goal-scoring chances and just as important, taking a higher percentage of those opportunites - something given his playing career, he should be well equipped to do.
