Derby v Middlesbrough, Saturday 13th Feb

Recommended Posts

So after the postponed Barnsley game, we’re back in action on Saturday against Boro.  We’ll have had 10 days off, so plenty of time to work with the new boys and unpick what went wrong last time out against Rotherham.  Results went against us yesterday, so we’ve slipped back to 21st and are only out of the bottom 3 on goal difference.

It’s a shame there won’t be any fans there to give Colin his usual warm welcome.  And to show our appreciation to the arch-Bamford Steve Gibson!

Boro are having a pretty dire run – they’ve only picked up 4 points from the last 6 games and let in 4 against Brentford yesterday and 3 against Rotherham.  They still sit 7th but there’s a bit of a gap opened up between them and the play offs.  It sounds like they didn’t play that badly against Brentford, in spite of the scoreline.

We were linked with Medez-Laing, so will he feature against us?  Boro also signed Kebano from Fulham and Yannick Bolasie and both played yesterday.

It will be interesting to see if any of our new boys start.  I reckon Roberts will start in place of Waggy, so let’s hope he comes back to haunt Boro.  Could Baningime make a start?

We could potentially see one of the new centre halves come in if we switch to a back 3.  It would be harsh to make wholesale changes to the back 4 when we’ve kept clean sheets (apart from the Rotherham game), but how much of the recent good defensive record was to do with Bielik’s presence remains to be seen.

Shouldnt this be Deby does Boro?

Has the likelihood of Deby going down been discussed in the relegation thread ?
