The U23s are also playing today, away at Liverpool. I can't see a TV link from the official site:

https://www.dcfc.co.uk/fixtures/results/2021/01/23/liverpool-v-u23

There is one from the Liverpool site:

If we can help it, I don't think we should be playing U23 games on the same day as first team games. It would be better to give some of the first team bench warmers etc a run out in the U23s to get them playing in a more competitive environment rather than simply training (especially as the first team doesn't use subs).

Tyree is up for it:

It's not unusual for us to play on the same day when we're away but I think we try to play our home matches on a Monday or Friday.

Having said that, I notice that moving the Forest match to a Friday night now means another clash with our Under 23s.

I do think it’s nuts to be playing so close to the first team playing dates purely because some players who don’t get a game for the first team sit on the bench most weeks don’t get a decent run out - sure they train together but are under 23 games so much poorer that it doesn’t make a difference?

Looks like we're continuing with 3 at the back.

Yates

Ebosele   Bardell   Bateman   Solomon   Archie

JBrown   LThompson   Williams

Wilson   Cresswell

Good to see JBrown back after his Covid issues, and just as good to see Ebosele start for the first time in a few months. Looks like Duncan will be with the first team.

How have they waited until just 30 minutes before kickoff to postpone?

Snow. To be fair, it has been coming pretty hard here too for a while. They wouldn't have known that earlier.

It's stopped here and is melting quickly, so might just be an issue of bad timing. I am assuming it is at a venue with no under pitch heating.

21 now, in his 3rd season in the U23 sqaud and played over 50 league games in that time. Needs to be pushing for a move soon.

Yes, I like Cresswell's effort but doesn't quite offer enough for me.

However, since he's grown his hair and got a hairband he looks more the part. ?

Interestingly, he was one of our best players against Chorley so would probably do quite well in adult football. Maybe a loan, see how he gets on before we let him go?
