sonofmidnight
Not many women on that list so I'll add a few. For jazz it's got to be Ella Fitzgerald but Annie Lennox is pretty good. Dusty Springfield, not so much the songs but wow what a voice. Eva Cassidy is up there as she sang with so much emotion in her voice and Katie Melua's good too. Kinder
Iron Maiden Red Hot Chilli Peppers Foos The Cure Paul Heaton Eagles Rod Stewart Everything Everything Biffy Clyro Maiden were my first love and I still listen to them a lot, but if I had to have one band that I go back to time and again, it’s probably The Cure. Disintegration is an absolute masterpiece. Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me and Head on the Door take me back to being a teenager. Brilliant music, absolutely brilliant. Mart Poom's penis Derby's Estonian goalkeeper bruised his penis playing in a charity football match against Iron Maiden earlier this year. Poom, playing as a striker in the match, collided awkwardly with the heavy metal band's keeper as he headed in a goal. Nico McBrain I believe. Cost him the maximum fine at the club as he missed a few games and had been told he couldn't play.

Einaudi features very heavily in the playlist I have for when I sit down to study or do some work. Would never listen to that sort of music for anything else, but it's great for that particular purpose.

A bit left field but I am listening to Peter frampton’s autobio and dug out the comes alive lp and it is reassuringly comforting. Then I discovered he had a newish acoustic lp out and I’ve been listening to that and it is ace. Great guitarist. He was ‘touring’ with Bonamassa last year and there is a clip of them playing when my guitar gently weeps together which is worth a view
