Completely agree and would love him to finish up with us.  It's the downside of the loan system as he will have developed and added experience to his CV for Brighton to use or sell to a club which can afford him.  Out of our league pricewise but wonder what they value him at ?

If I was a Championship club going up then he'd be one I'd seriously look at in the summer.

He was immense yesterday.  Actually thought him an Byrne we're the only ones to come out with any credit from the Rotherham game but it was only a par performance from him.

It's a shame we couldn't get to see alongside Tomori, although Clarkey is not quite Oooo Mark Wright yet !

Cheers

Really like Matt Clarke. Bit scary sometimes when he’s got the ball but is the last man;  so  just controls it, drops a shoulder and goes up the pitch. Young full of Strength, skill and self confidence. As a CB in this team which is under pressure he’s only going to get better and learn more.

Last night he was Keogh-esque...body on the line, marauding forward with the ball, anticipation to take the ball off the opposition..

Better than Keogh. Keogh only ever brought the ball out of defence when he had space to run into. Clarke is comfortable dribbling past players.

Did he have any moments of losing concentration, and making mistakes at crucial moments? 😉

Or was he like Keogh at his heroic very best?

Don’t think he’s ever not been the player we know to be honest. He’s been one of our best players all season, it’s just now he’s got some proper protection in front of him in Bielik, so you’re starting to see us get more clean sheets as a result.

Never really have a bad word to say about Clarke, he’s probably one of the best all round centre backs in the league. For an “old fashioned” defender, his distribution is superb.

You've forgotten him being dropped because he didn't have the rhythm?

Yeah well that was a complete load of baalocks. Pretty much the moment I lost faith in Cocu. Clarke hadn’t done anything to deserve dropping, he was still our best defender. And look what happened when we dropped our best defender... surprise surprise, we concede 4 goals.
