The Bass sponsored kit was the centenary one which we used in 84 in the old third division. Maybe we should replicate it for our upcoming descent into league 1 for some sort of consistency?

Actually you might be right. Although the shorts look blue, I think this might the season we switched to black and white. I'll leave it to the many kit experts to put me right!

Black shorts and blue socks or vice versa might be a good way to satisfy everyone, and keep both colours from the different eras

For anybody who doesn't know the history of this, Brian Clough introduced this colour scheme because that was the England colours and as most of our team would soon be playing for England it made sense. We got up to four in the team at one point but then he buggered off.

I for one preferred it and would welcome it back so don't be bullied for your post Bearwood

Cloughie introduced it because England was the best team followed by Brazil (our away colours) and Derby was third best.

They'd have to re record Steve Bloomers watching if we changed to blue......... seems to much hassle

Not really any hassle at all.
As both the words "Black" and "Blue" are one syllable, swapping one for the other won't affect the tempo, so at least we'd all be able to continue to sing it in unison.

Oh...

My first Rams match was away at Ipswich in 1976. The 6-2 win, last game of the season, Frannie Lee’s last ever game. My mum had knitted me a black and white scarf which I wore despite the team having navy blue shorts on. I was a 10 year old in the home end. The stick I got from some young Ipswich fans was something else ?
