This Louie Watson seems to have come from nowhere mind, I remember him signing in the summer, but don’t know much about him other than that. This smells of Watson being the cover player just outside the squad in case they decide Lawrence isn't fit enough on the day and has stepped in. Other midfield options on the bench of Bird, Sibley, Evans and Holmes. On the wing we have Ibe, Holmes and Sibley. There was no creativity from the wings and it was over-reliant on players past their best, unable to keep up with the physical demands of a full schedule (let alone the condensed one) or kids from the academy with the varying performance levels / consistency expected of young players. This squad has more than enough ability to stay up, it's up to the players to get the job done. it wasnt good enough for the playoffs last year and we massively overachieved after the rooney bounce in my opinion. a few results doesnt change the fact this season has been dreadful, the term you are only as good as your last game is valid. we do not have enough quality and time will expose this.
